PROART-RTX4080-O16G - HOT SPOT Temps exceeding 110°C

DrSlump76
Level 8

Hi,

recently i've noticed increased fan noise from my gpu during games or high gpu loads (even on certain youtube videos).

GPU-Z temperature logs looks not good to me.

Room temperature = 20°C

No differences even if i leave my pc case side panel opened.

Is it normal? Is my gpu faulty?

Thanks

If your gpu is under warranty send it so they replace thermal paste.

This is common on these cards because they use cheap thermal paste and it will pump out in like few months. If your card is out of warranty replace thermal paste with PTM7950 or if you are not confident to open your card go to local repair shop and let them do it.

Yes it's a solution. Amazon offered to me a total refaund too.. should i keep the card (repasted by asus) or should i return it and whait for the new upcoming cards??

Did you read new 50 series by asus? Seems like they will use a phase-change thermal pad instead of classic thermal paste...  seems like these cards will be pricey too...

I would personally return card, get money back and wait for 50 series. Yes asus use ptm7950 on their new 50 series card so you will never have to repaste a card (problem with hotspot temps will be past).

Thankyou!

I am considering purchasing an "ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX™ 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition" (my case is a Fractal Torrent Nano), but I am concerned about the price and availability. The risk is that I might be without a VGA for an extended period and end up paying significantly more than my original card. What are your thoughts on this matter?
