Prime 4070 Ti super - LED on during suspend

Hi,

I recently got a Prime 4070 Ti super on the Amazon Black Friday sale, and it works great except for one thing: There's this silly LED that turns ON when I suspend my machine, and it's driving me crazy. Does anybody here know of a fix?

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX V2

Power supply: CORSAIR 750W 80 Plus Gold (Type-4, 2 PCIe slots available for GPU)

Things I've tried so far, based on various suggestions I found online - all without success:

  • Enabling ErP in Bios
  • GPU Tweak III: The "Power Detect" setting is missing (maybe because it's not a ROG series GPU?)
  • Armory Crate: Aura sync reports no supported devices found (because it doesn't have RGB effect lighting?)
  • OpenRGB doesn't detect the card either
  • Swapping the adaptor cable that came with the card and the 2 PCIe cables for a Corsair Premium 600W PCIe 5.0 / Gen 5 12VHPWR PSU Cable

I really want to avoid using black tape but I'm running out of ideas...!

Hi @eierschwammerl

See here for more details.

Fairly certain Power Detect is an ROG feature.

Thanks, I had read that post -  that's why I 1) Looked for the setting in GPU Tweak III (nothing there with my card) and 2) tried switching the power cable.

This thread suggests that it's an issue with the adaptor cables, and that switching to something like the one I got should help. My PSU doesn't have a 16-pin 12VHPWR output, but people in that thread seem to have success with 8x2-to-16 pin cables. Maybe I'll try the CableMod one.
