[Patched] ASUS UEFI vBIOS tool for GTX 600 series cards!

Nodens
Level 16
I have patched the ASUS UEFI GOP Updater tool so that it skips the compatible motherboard check. With this patch the tool will blindingly continue to download and flash your card.
For SLI configurations each card must be flashed separately just like the original tool.

Disclaimer:
This is my own work and has nothing to do with ASUS. Neither ASUS or I can be held responsible if you manage to brick your system with this tool.
This is provided on a
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK basis. If your motherboard is not compatible with UEFI GOP it will BRICK your system FOR SURE. No one can be deemed responsible for using this other than yourself. So do your research and be absolutely certain your motherboard supports UEFI GOP.

Instructions:
1) Download the original ASUS tool (see HERE), install and reboot.
2) Download the patched executable: http://www.necrosan.com/rog/ASUS_UEFI_GOP_Tool_patch/ASUS_UEFI_Nodens.rar (New host courtesy of Necrosan:))
3) Extract the executable from the .rar archive in "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\UEFI" while overwriting the stock one that is already there (You can backup the old one if you so wish).
4) IMPORTANT: Run the tool and leave it running until it looks like this:
(Image at the end of the post due to a bug with the forum editor and image attachments)

5)Reboot and disable CSM:)

Special thanks to my testers: Fefquois and furrybob. Their help testing was invaluable as I do not currently have any system without an ASUS board in order to test myself.

Do not post on this threads questions asking if your X-Y-Z brand and model board is compatible with UEFI GOP. I do not have the time to do that research for you. Research your board yourself or do not use this tool.

If your system has an ASUS UEFI GOP supporting board then you do not need this. Use the original ASUS tool instead.

Extra Notes:
A) On platforms with on-board graphics set init options to PEG first.
B) If you are using Logic Virtu disable it prior to flashing.

Okay, i just flashed my GTX 660 TI Direct CU II OC with this applictation and it says that everything worked well. but if go to the UEFI Settings and enable Ultra fast boot and disable CSM, it says that my GTX 660 still doesn't support GOP and CSM Disabled. How can i fix this?

Just a short reminder. Do you know how i can fix this?

Cant get either tool to run. When I run ASUSUEFI.exe as admin get the good old "can't open AsIO.sys !! (2).
I have tried putting that file in every folder no diff. Within folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\asus\UEFI folder. Confirmed it also resides in System32\drivers and syswow64\drivers registry has no mention of this file So why it's in system driver folders I don't know. The only other ASUS program running is GPU Tweak 2.4.9.2 the latest for my card. Live update tool runs fine there but says everything is up to date. Trying to flash this thing before clean install to Win 8.1.
My card is the GTX680-DC20-2GD532283 Personally sick and tired of sloppy asus software programming Come on a simple bios update to a video card. The files in directory should have no dependencies. I could do it myself but I need to connect to some server to get it. If someone mentions the ASUS AI clean tool I just finished restoring from backup as it caused a 7B BSOD. Any other idea's welcome The Motherboard is on approved list P8Z77-V Deluxe bios 2104.

I have also tried creating a new local profile with admin privileges. no joy after install reboot once software runs "can't open AsIO.sys !! (2).
Could someone please provide proper file for my card so I can use nvidia flash tool? BTW that error plagues all asus software on this install of Windows 7. With the exception of GPUtweak. Can't even charge ipad because software won't run...

AsIO.sys is the ASUS IO driver and should reside in System32\drivers as normal. Seems like the driver installation is corrupted in your case. You could try running the AI Suite cleaner tool.

Yes I removed all Asus software as per the cleanup tool instruction rebooted in safe mode ran tool. after Reboot I was faced with Blue Screen Of Death 7B. (all startup modes) Makes no sense as I run Intel RST and SSD hooked to port 0 of that controller.
that tool should not affect storage driver causing 7b.
Only Asus software problems everything else works.

A conflict with any driver is theoretically possible. Also maybe you removed something else in the process as well. Check the registry for the presence of asIO.sys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services if you find a service with it. Delete it's key and reboot. Then delete the acutal sys file from system32\drivers and try installing it again.

That said 7B points either to your boot sector being bad (entirely irrelevant with this tool and if your installation is in UEFI mode (which it should be since you're looking at this) it means that there's something wrong with the boot manager and/or ESP partition). It could also be the storage driver is corrupted hence corrupted Windows installation or RST driver. In both these cases it's 99% crtain that they are largely irrelevant with what you're trying to do and you have stability or corruption issues that are beginning to manifest..

Running Win 7 64bit no reference to 32 bit version of asio.sys. which is probably cause of error. If you do could you export it and tell me driver date of asio.sys (have three) That key points to SysWow64\drivers\AsIO.sys. All asus drivers are missing c:\windows reference. assumed they covered that elsewhere. ( yes I tried adding rebooting and trying again. I Have removed asio.sys key backing up key first. Also looked at permissions.
I game and being a photographer but a lot of stress on my computer so really doubt corruption. will look into reserved partition problem. Do recall an issue with Win 7 boot partition. When transferring from Mech HD to SSD. Still makes no sense why clean up tool caused that agreed.

There should be no reference to 32 bit. 64bit OS can not use 32bit drivers and vice versa.

So one last time removed registry entry for ASIO.SYS deleted file rebooted.
remove ASUSUEFI tool reboot. Confirmed registry entries are gone so is file. All Asus software previously removed. Except Asus GPU tweak it doesn't use this file.
Reinstalled tool rebooted as prompted same error as always with most of Asus MoBo software that was previously installed. Buyer beware.
Have run over night memtestx86 8 passes no trouble found. OCCT overnight no trouble still running in AM. Using Win 7 boot CD startup repair tool no trouble found. I don't overclock in fact CPU over clocking disabled. Stability more important than 200 mhz...
AsIO.sys !! (2) trouble continues.
Thanks for your Help Nodens. My yearly upgrade coming guess what it won't be.
