Curious to see what -if any- aesthetic revisions ASUS incorporates on the 1080 Ti.

That EVGA card is sharp. Modest by comparison to the others, not overdone and vulgar. Classy. And they finally added that third crucial fan.

i never thought i'd get to see a car spoiler on a graphics card lol.

(aw come on, don't tell me i'm the only one that sees it that way 😮 )
no siggy, saw stuff that made me sad.

That card looks like an armoured train with turbines. Would ride it into battle, etc...

Also reminds of Brabham's 1978 BT46 Formula 1 challenger:

That's the point of the X4. The idea is to improve side air intake for SLI.

That's more like it!

Really like the look of that Turbo too!

I would say ASUS Strix FTW...but that would get confusing 😉

Hmmm....I really wonder how that is going to work against pressure of air trying to escape...looks gimmicky to me

That EVGA card looks really sleek but it wont change me from getting the Strix O11G, in the end you rarely see the fan side of a GPU, i have Corsair 750D which has a huge window but you still cant see the fan part unless you look at it from bottom.

I have returned my Strix O8G, now i am on HD630 Graphics and its so painfull 🙂 Hopefully by the end of March i will have my new card. I asked all the shops and distributors but none of them knows anything, i have contacted local Asus but i think they wont have an answer for me aswell.

What do you guys think about Strix model? You think Asus might have changed the design a little or just snapped the same cooler of GTX1080 on it due to limited time? I hope they made some improvements like fixing the LEDS on it so it can be set to real white, not some "looks like white" color 😄

Also another question, why the more recent 1080ti has lower clocks than 1080? I assume the clock speed is not crucial to performance?

It's not in this instance, no. The 1080GTX is based on GP104 which is smaller, consisting of 2,560 CUDA cores (stream processors). The 1080Ti is more affiliated with the Titan X(P) based on GP102. It has 3,584 CUDA cores and a wider memory bus. On top of that, the Ti will have no issues surpassing the stock boost clock of a GTX part.

I imagine Inno3D know what they're doing. It may not look functional to us but during testing they may have improved air channelization thereby reducing temperatures in SLI and who knows, possibly in single card setup. We'll see when it's tested how it performs cooling and noise wise.
