New 5070 Black Screen

Brand new 5070 Prime installed with latest drivers. On normal restart, card shows black screen. I have to fully kill the power before I can get a display again. Have used many video cards on this PC and never had any similar issues. Any suggestions?

I believe there has been an issue with the Nvidia drivers in that regard. I noticed many people mentioning a "black screen" issue when googling for MFG problems with the latest driver, however, I've not been affected by this myself with my 5000 series card so I can't really speak much on it.

You could try Nvidia's hotfix driver that came right before the latest official driver, it ends with .75. Here's the link Find Answers | NVIDIA but you can also just google nvidia hotfix 572.75. 

572.83 is borked in my opinion, MFG 3x and 4x in Cyberpunk and Indiana Jones (and probably other titles) don't work properly anymore but I noticed weird behavior in Indy on other drivers as well.

Tried Cyberpunk briefly and seemed okay, Indy has been okay other then crashing if my monitor goes into sleep mode if I'm away for a bit. Hoping this all gets resolved.

The issue happens when you have G-Sync enabled, V-Sync globally set to on, and then use FG / MFG.

TIP: play with monitor menu when restarting and turn on the pc ( no need to select anything. play with monitor osd or menu will prevent monitor being sleep. that happens cause at the moment of post get to vga (white led on the board if your board has diagnostic lights) monitor is sleep. I have teach user on this for long long long time.  On amd take more time to post so... is a good move to learn.

No manner what you do try, change or mod, will not fix it.

I just bought a 5070, having the same issue. It boots up, let's me long in then freezes and goes black. My keyboard also turns off but my PC is still running . Card works fine when I put it in another PC but not mine. I am out of ideas I've tried everything even had to reinstall windows.

same here, asus 5070 ti oc browser goes black, has to be re-opened very very often. B.s. Nvidia hates us!

Ended up returning the 5070. And got lucky and just got the RX 9070, 100 DOLLARS LESS. At microcenter, and got their warranty. And it works. It actually works. Yeah this experience has made me want to never deal with Nvidia again.

I have similar issue, Astral 5090 OC, X870e hero, 9800x3d: i have to force PCIE to run at gen 4.

PCIE at gen 5 , the display goes black on windows login, sometimes my mouse losses connection as well.

driver 572.83 and 576.02 can't run the card at gen 5. 

at gen 4 everything is fine, very frustrating.

tried DDU, fresh windows install, clear cmos, problem persists.

I have been having the same issue here with the 5070TI OC. It is very weird because the black screen can happen really randomly, with very old game with low graphic and recent games with heavy load.
I tried eveything you guys recommended and the G sync have been good until today I got another crash. So it just made it less frequent.
Pci gen 4 did nothing on my end unfortunately.. same as the Spread spectrum on the bios.
