Is 2 x ROG POSEIDON-GTX780-P-3GD5 in sli a good configuration?

Hi all,

Is 2 x ROG POSEIDON-GTX780-P-3GD5 in sli a good configuration? Or isn't it worth the money ? Can someone give some advice please.

Yes, that's plenty of gpu horse power for 1080p.

If you haven't got them yet the gtx 900 series is coming in about 2 weeks.

Thanks your all for the good advice, no i haven't got them yet. Is the gtx960 that good? Is that the "rog" version?

I'm not sure what all will be available at launch. I do know the gtx 980 and 970 will be available. If you can swing it, might as well go for the gtx 980. ROG versions I imagine will be available like the rest. You can research this as I'm not 100% sure.

i want to build a very good system so i will wait untill nvidia comes with the new gtx (and wait for the rog-version ofcourse 😉 )
or i put 2 x ROG POSEIDON-GTX780-P-3GD5 in sli.
I'm now reviewing the new intel Haswell-E and compare them with the Devil's canyon (4790-K) , still not out on that and that is crucial for my choice in motherboard : the maximus formula VII (watercooled) or the rampage V extreme. pfff dificult 😉

If you are just gaming, the maximus vii formula and the 4790k is enough. It will save you some bucks too.

The maximus vii formula can only sli 2 nvidia graphics cards. If you are going to use more than two nvidia cards then you will want to go with the rampage board.

But since you are only running 2 nvidia cards, My choice would be the Formula vii and 4790k.

If you put two gtx 980's in the formula vii, you will have one power house of a gaming pc.

You don't have to water cool the formula vii, but the option is there if you have a water loop.

I'm predicting the gtx 980 will cost $749.99. So $749.99 x 2 = $1,500.00

the 780 and 980 will be almoast on pair.
but the 980 will be a tad bether.
780ti would be over 980 from what the speculations say.
