hello all fellow rog-ers. i could use some help with oc-ing my gtx 680 dc2.
i own rampage IV extreme, which allows connecting gpu directly to motherboard, for direct control over all aspects.
since i am having trouble finding a tutorial for this, can someone tell me, or point me in the right direction.
is this possible to do on a non-top graphic card, and does this void the warranty of the gpu?
are there any step-by-step tutorials on this subject?
i have managed a great oc on my i7-3820(5125mhz, on air), and would like to pair it up with a good gpu oc, for some good 3dmark score:)
thank you in advance.

Welcome, Turok, to the ROG Forum!

Unfortunately, the GTX680 DC2s don't have very good overclockability right out of the box... - but, I guess, you already know about this as you're asking about connecting the card directly to the mobo...

What you're talking about, is called the Hotwire Function... for that, you need some soldering skills and I would strongly advise watercooling, as the hotwired cards will run hotter than the stock ones...

All you need to do is here, in post #7 by BallaTheFeared: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2240629

Again, be aware that if you raise the voltages, you will need better cooling than the stock...

thank you for the reply, it does show everything i need to know about doing it:)
soldering skills are not a problem, i am not that skilled, but my brother works as a servicer of mobile phones, so that isn't an issue.
i do know about higher temps, of course, but for now i am not in financial possibility to get water-cooled system, but i have that planned. i would only push the card to the point where thermals let me. it is a well ventilated case(silverstone raven 3), so it should help a bit.

do you know if this soldering voids the warranty for sure?

Oh, yes! ANY kind of overclocking voids the warranty...
