GTX680-DC2G-4GD5 Cooling and noise?

Hello,

I do own a GTX 570 SC but I want to upgrade my GPU because I use a lot of the CUDA video encoding services (Adobe Premiere, DVDFAB etc) and some gaming
I first wanted to buy the ASUS GTX680-DC2T-2GD5 with great reviews and it would fit into my Lian Li V2110 Full Tower.
However, the dual slot SUS has 4GB but I was wondering if anyone has experiences with this card (especially the acoustic properties since it's only 2 slots).
Any advice welcome,
Thx
Bram

well i guess every thing comes down to the load and stress you put on the card.
i run 2 560TI in sli, but they can make some sound and i have the case 1 meter away from me.
and yes there will always be some noice from them, mines up to 60+ +c in temps on full load.
if you want silent cards ( no fan noice ) i would sugest a waterloop for the card IF that would be an option to reduce noice.
i know this is not the ansver you want but its the ansver and sugestion i can come up whit.

and since that card is 2slot ( bether when in sli then 3slot cards ) it runs cooler when sli'd becouse of the space between them, and bether airflow.
and the top card dont pull heated air right from the pcb of the bottom card.

Hi,

thx for the reply. I prefer not to sli since I experienced some problems during video editing.
I'm wondering if the double slot cooler is less effective than the triple slot?

kkn, every 3-slot card becomes 2-slot when you mount waterblock on them... 🙂

bramdo, I do suspect that the 2-slot Asus cards with the DirectCu system are a little bit louder than the 3-slot ones... - using watercooling, really makes a difference on the graphics cards... if you combine a full cover block with a low fin density, but big enough radiator, and use silent fans, you actually can have much better cooling with lower noise...
