GTX 780 DC02 GK110B revision not working with Quiet Fan BIOS

I recently purchased an Asus GTX780 DC2OC and tried to update it to the Quiet Fan BIOS found on the Asus webpage ( https://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX780DC2OC3GD5/#support ), but I get a "This patch does not support this Card!" error every time I run the update.
The ASUS GPU Tweak shows that I’m running the 80.80.21.00.AS04, which seems to be tied to the new GK110B revision (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/148529/asus-gtx780-3072-130927.html ). As best as I can tell, the quiet-fan versions of the BIOS are built for the GK110A version, so I suspect that is the source of the problem.
I plan on giving Asus tech support a call on Monday, but in the mean time, do any of you know if it would be safe to flash the quiet-fan GK110A bios onto a GK110B board?

how do i check which version of the GPU I have? I just purchased 2 of these, and in GPUZ it states Revision A1 for both with a release date of May23/13. Bios is 80.80.21.00.3B Vios, , VBIOS 80.80.21.00.AS04 on both cards.

I also tried to flash with the "quiet" bios with no luck.

would these 2 cards possibly be the B revision ?

Yep. you have Rev. B. Based on the confirmation that 27% on rev = 37% on Rev. (1100 RPM idle), I am inclined to believe that the Rev B. boards already have the "Quiet Fan Bios" as stated by Marshall.

Sorry, I thought they were synonymous. My 780 came with BIOS: 80.80.21.00.3B / VBIOS: 80.80.21.00.AS04 ( http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/148529/asus-gtx780-3072-130927.html ).

According to the TechPowerUp review idle noise didn't change at all with the new BIOS, only load fan speeds. I'd be interested to see an ASUS person online respond officially to this one.

The new 780 is definitely a new revision which is why attempting to flash the "A" revision BIOS failed. So who knows. Maybe they adjusted the % to RPM ratio in the new "B" rev fan or BIOS. The fan noise at load on this card is very "smooth" sounding, not LOUD like the EVGA or MSI fans. Would love to hear from ASUS. If they don't respond here maybe an email to support would help?

Follow Up: I sent a PM to MarshallR@ASUS here on the boards on this issue. He replied with what I suspected....

"A rev models only need the update since it was launched pre-"Quiet Fan BIOS" but B rev models already ship the "Quiet Fan BIOS" from launch, so no need for any update. They both produce the same result."

I did ask him a follow up question (Why is idle fan speed 37% on Rev. B while Rev. A with new BIOS is 27%?) so we'll see what he says. However I suspect it's what I said earlier. The percentage is 37% but the RPM may have been altered. I'd be interested to know from folks that have Rev. A with the "Quiet Fan" BIO was the RPM is at 27%. The RPM for mine at idle (37%) is 1100 RPM and is silent.

27% on mine is around 1100rpm as well. Also could you tell me which memory this revision uses? You can check it with nvidia inspector just hover your mouse over "GDDR5"

VBIOS 80.80.21.00.AS04 in GPU Teak
BIOS 80.80.21.00.3B in GPU-Z

Bought new in December.

Fan is at
Max 3282
Min 3098??????

and it's very noisy

Can someone please, please help me out
