GTIII_OSD64.dll causing game and driver crashes when using OSD with DLSS/Reflex in AAA titles

Hi ASUS Team,

I'd like to report a serious compatibility issue with GPU Tweak III's OSD module (GTIII_OSD64.dll). When the in-game OSD is enabled, certain AAA titles—such as Spider-Man 2 and Cyberpunk 2077—frequently crash or trigger NVIDIA driver resets (TDR), especially when DLSS or NVIDIA Reflex is also enabled.

After analyzing several crash dumps, the cause consistently points to invalid pointer access in GTIII_OSD64.dll during or shortly after the game exits. In some cases, this is compounded by sl.interposer.dll (from NVIDIA Streamline) being unloaded while still referenced, resulting in either direct crashes or nvlddmkm.sys driver faults.

Here are the key symptoms:
- `CrashReporter.exe` crashes with an `Access Violation` inside GTIII_OSD64.dll.
- Games like Spider-Man 2 crash with `0xC0000005` at an unloaded sl.interposer.dll address.
- System sometimes shows a driver timeout and resets the GPU.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable GPU Tweak III OSD overlay.
2. Launch a DLSS 3-supported title like Spider-Man 2.
3. Play for several minutes and then exit to desktop.
4. The game may crash or freeze; sometimes the NVIDIA driver restarts.

System info:
- GPU: RTX 5090 (ROG STRIX ASTRAL OC)
- Driver: 576.28
- GPU Tweak III: v1.9.5.8
- Windows 11 24H2

This behavior is reproducible and disabling the OSD overlay completely resolves the issue. I highly suspect a conflict between GTIII_OSD64 and NVIDIA's Streamline-based features (DLSS/Reflex), possibly due to incorrect hook release or unsafe pointer dereferencing.

Please investigate this incompatibility. Many users rely on in-game telemetry but stability should come first.

Thanks.

Hi @aryuss

Fairly specific SOP. Can you confirm that I need to exit Spider-Man 2 to instigate a TDR event?

I've played this title for 43 hours with no TDR events, OSD has occasionally been enabled, but not always.

I've just started New Game + and played for several minutes, no issues or TDR events so far, even after exiting.
