Hi All,
I'm having issues with my 4090 TUF's clock speed. For some reason, the clock speed regularly stays at 210Mhz at idle and wont ramp up. When it does, it rately stays above 2000MHz more than a second, even under 100%% load. At idle the temps are around 30-40 degrees C and at load around 80-85 degrees C.
It has some ridiculously low benchmarking results, for example 3dMark Speedway score is 3751.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Yes, that doesn't seem right. EKWB 4090 TUF here at defaults scoring just south of 10,000 in Speedway.
Try updating to driver 531.41 and using Clean Install. Also, ensure you are running the most recent AMD chipset driver. (https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am5/x670e)

EK blocked 4090 TUF OC /12900k - my score for Speedway is a bit north of 10k at stock.
@Chunggy - check the mounting pressure of your GPU block. I know that 30-series cards were prone to run at 410MHz if the mounting pressure was too great.

Valid point. @Chunggy , check the GPU hotspot temp by installing Hwinfo. The EK Blocks can be quite cantankerous with mounting pressure.

Thanks all, so it turns out EK sent me the wrong block despite all the labelling being what it should be.
I noticed something wrong when I had dismantled it and noticed that the thermal paste wasn’t spread.
I have to say though, dealing with EK was a pain in the @ss, had to send them loads of photos and video of the putting on the block and taking it off and of the box and labels…
They really gotta work in their QA/QC
