ASUS ROG GTX 780 Poseidon "Platinum" has me excited

In case you haven't been checking the Front Page(SHAME ON YOU!! :P) here is the 1st review on the card http://rog.asus.com/291312013/news/rog-gtx-780-poseidon-platinum-review-gets-editors-choice-award-at... full review here: http://www.reviewstudio.net/1180-asus-gtx-780-rog-poseidon-platinum-review-directcu-h2o-air-cooling

Now i'm sure you're wondering "but Myk, why are you so excited?" heh...well let me tell you, I read through the review top to bottom and back up and I noticed one thing was not there...we all know the MARS/ARES cards are the top of the VGA lines for Nvid and ATI cards, they are ridiculously expensive and they are limited in numbers...but, it seems the Poseidon is following in the footsteps of the MARS 760 and is not a limited numbers release card!!!

I can only hope that the "Poseidon" marks a new evolution of VGA production that follows EVGA's Classified Hydro Copper cards and comes out every generation hereafter, but, I reaaaaallllllly hope that ASUS/ROG don't limit the Poseidon to just the top end cards of Nvid and ATI.

And just so you guys know, the Poseidon is priced about $100USD above the price of the 780 😄

That would be pretty awesome, also, with no problems with a potential RMA? probably would never happen though hahaha

I'm having trouble finding information about the materials used in the water line. I see mention of copper heat pipes, but I assume that is the heat pipes to the air cooling heatsink.
I need to know if there is aluminium or nickel that will get in contact with the water as either will cause problems in my planned loop.

I have too tried to find what metal is used in the construction, the only clue that i have found was "Die Cast"

If this is the case then the metal used is Aluminum,

as die cast is the process in of using manufacturing aluminum.

I have worked at a Ford Motor Plant(USA) in a die cast area and we made throttle bodies, all alternators and window wiper motors for the frames

and the molten metal used was aluminum.

My opinion only, but after the m6f cool chill, i hope that they were not bringing forward another

Aluminum product,galvanic corrosion = aluminum + copper

It is time for some Engineers' to respond to the faithful

You do remember that the implanted WC on the M6F was actually anodized, don't you?

It is still a science experiment.

I really hope they are going to sell Poseidon as a cooling kit... would like it on my 780Ti reference

its not going to be sold as a kit since the TI is not the same as the normal 780.
the PCB and conductor is diffrent on them.
