Hello
I saw new presentation Asus rog ally X
And I have 1 question
How I must use my XG mobile EGPU in new ASUS rog Ally??
Will Asus provide some kind of adapter for this video card? or how? Did I throw away $2000?

See above. I appreciate you're trying to cajole a reaction to get a different answer, but the XG Mobile launched alongside the Ally, not the Ally X. I'm not sure what this has to do with customer treatment. I'd heard uptake was extremely low, hence why they likely thought it was better to go with more USB functionality. It's not like ASUS wants to intentionally stagnate Mobile XG sales. It's already an incredibly slim niche, and this doesn't impact XG usage on the current Ally in any way shape or form.
Again, never say never, but currently not aware of any immediate plans.

What is a cajole means ? A simple answer that there is no plan to support XG mobile on ally x, suggest stick to the original ally if you already have a xg mobile.
Is this kind of answer so hard for ROG to reply ?
and asking for a formal answer like this is a cajole ?
This is what ROG treat customer ?
Asking questions you don't want to answer is not alow and need to be call a cajole ???
How grateful ROG is

I have ally and xg mobile 4090, I also reorder rog ally x on Mar 21.
I dont care about the spec of ally x. I proedered it before anything is knew.
And now I am just asking for a official announcement.
If rog ally x will not support xg mobile and there is no adaptor plan. Make a official reponse. Then people can decide they will buy a new egpu or some other plan.
And this question turn on to be a cojale ?
That is how ROG respect your customer ?
So, what should I reply, thanks for your kindly reponse ?
How funny!

What exactly is it you are unclear about?
I'm sure you can cancel your preorder if you're unhappy with the lack of XG support? You keep mentioning customer treatment, but you're free to use the XG with your current Ally. Remember, the Ally X is not the Ally 2 - nobody is forcing you to upgrade. If XG support is important to you (then at least for the time being), I would stay put.
It sounds like you already have the answer to your question, but aren't happy with it. Hence you're asking again expecting a different response. I'd rather be direct and tell you that, as of this moment, there aren't any plans for an adapter.

Thanks for your clear answer.
I really feel ROG's customer treatment is terrible.
After 3 WEEKS ROG finally give an official answer.
Due to "I'd heard uptake was extremely low, hence why they likely thought it was better to go with more USB functionality. It's not like ASUS wants to intentionally stagnate Mobile XG sales. It's already an incredibly slim niche, and this doesn't impact XG usage on the current Ally in any way shape or form."
Because the user who buys XG Mobile is small, so they don't deserve an official response in 1 WEEKS.
And using "cojale" to attack your customer and speaking politics as "Again, never say never, but currently not aware of any immediate plans." to this small group XG Mobile people, we didn't forget you. In the future, there might be a possibility.
The last funny thing is "Remember, the Ally X is not the Ally 2". The pre-order is on Mar at a ROG direct store. During that time, did Rog announce the new Ally is called Ally X? Is there any wrong writing Ally 2? Oh, are you saying ROG direct store, write this pre-order wrong, due to ROG's non-professional , because Ally 2 is not an Ally X.
All these have nothing to do with customer treatment.
I fully understand ROG statement and attitude to the "small group" customer. Good Job.
I will definitely go back to the ROG direct store and ask what ALLY 2 is. Because ROG official told me ALLY 2 is not ALLY X. Great statement. I really appreciate this information. I am so curious about what I will get fo Ally 2 ? WOW a new Ally which is never announced ?

You've made your voice heard and it's clear you don't agree with the decision, but can only tell you the facts and sarcasm isn't going to alter these. The fact is/was that users who were being vocal about a more open standard infinitely outweighed the alternative, so ASUS listened. You can continue to use the XG on your Z1E and vote with your wallet if the Ally X isn't the upgrade for you 👍

I agree ive been looking for a SOLUTION i also jus spent 2k on a 4090 an really hope they make some way for us to use our xg mobiles with the new x. Wouldnt make much sence to not at least give us some kind of adapter. 2k ontop on the rog is alot of money regaurdless of how many people spent it or not.

Honestly if they don't offer some sort of adapter it basically guarantees I never buy one of their products again. I'll ride out my AMD XG and currently Ally until it's no longer capable for new titles and go with someone else's version that supports whatever the current egpu standard is by then.
