ASUS GTX980TI MATRIX PLATINUM GOLD

WORLD FASTEST GTX980Ti and GM200 Graphic Cards.
THIS IS AMAZING AND INSANE HARDWARE. SICK.

1266 MHz BASE CLOCK - I ONLY CAN CONGRATS ASUS ON THIS, THAT'S BINNING.
HoooHooo 1 2 6 6 MHz BASE... ALMOST 300MHz FABRIC OVERCLOCK...
Even Video Memory have little OC 1800MHz Clock... and that's nice. I'm not for overclocking these cards more than1900MHz on memory because small improvements and big risk of dying video memory. But something symbolic toi follow GPU Clock is nice.

I mean... Noo That's not fair... I want this CARD...:(

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/GOLD20TH-GTX980TI-P-6G-GAMING/overview/

This is for gaming 12-24 months than crossing on Pascal and this card on the wall, like golden vinyl record.
For 20th Anniversay of ASUS...

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/GOLD20TH-GTX980TI-P-6G-GAMING/gallery/

I want only to show you this...

God, why I'm poor, I want black/gold PC.
This would be fantastic and EPIC BUILD WITH Rampage 5 Extreme Black Edition.
I don't know for you, maybe someone remember but I think this is highest fabric overclocked GPU EVER.
People are not aware how small number of chips could work on this fabric speed, only that, nothing else.
I would keep this card on fabric frequency.

And this is her friend, Gold Polished i7-5820K...

ASUS for last 2 years really show what mean overclocking high end graphic cards.
That's real ASUS. They have most powerful name, logo, team, history, hardware and should produce cards like this
980Ti Gold and previous Matrix from series 900.

I'd rather have silver or copper than gold ... better intrinsic thermal conductivities. So silver/black seems better (and far more affordable) than gold/black, lol.

Copper/black would end up looking a bit too much like a Duracell battery for my tastes, though.

Never mind, it's anniversary of ASUS and Gold is proper color for that.
Most important is so high clock and after waterblock installation card could become full black.
She perfectly match with black motherboard and ASUS will launch soon something in full black or even Rampage 5 Extreme Black / Gold.
I have no single objection on this card... Nothing can be better than so high clock, that's most important thing.
In my country some people bought GIGABYTE GTX980Ti G1... cccc... She is funny compare to this beast. 🙂

And box...

The Strix does that too, well at least mine does.

What, 1266MHz base clock... Nice!
But I love unique cards, many people can't understand their value, but I love special custom models.
This card is good and for gamers because they don't need to overclock nothing.
Only to enjoy in gaming on 1266MHz or to install waterblock and enjoy in silence and 1400-1500RPM fans from radiator.
I never played games on 270MHz overclocked card.
Everybody love to pull more performance than reference speed... and for CPU and for GPU.
But for me is enough when CPU work 20% faster than stock speed with default voltage and when graphic cards is overclocked by
Fabric. Than I don't need to worry that something will die because my mistake and I can't cover damage.
At the end it's much better when clock is inside BIOS not everything with Windows boot you need to change clock or at least to check
clock. Maybe someone forgot to check OC Software to start with Windows and load profile, and similar things.
But when overclock speed is default that it's much better.

Still no video clips on Youtube... Only 2-3 cards In life I like so much as this...
This card mostly because it's huge and have highest clock I ever saw.
For series GTX900 we can say freely ASUS is Graphic card Leader with most powerfull models.
And GM204 and special GM200.
Before that they didn't try so hard to find best chips... If EVGA K|NGP|N have chips capable to reach 1206MHz imagine how much is 60MHz more... On so high clock every 10MHz more is very hard to reach.
For me this card for gamers is overclocked model and people should enjoy in that, LN2 overclockers and sponsored teams could search something higher.
I say that because maybe some ROG fans decide to invest in this model and start to complain if they could reach
50MHz more only and compare with some reference models capable to reach 150-200MHz and forgot to pay attention on fabric clock. Real Base clock of this card is 1000MHz...ASUS increase on 1266.

I only think ASUS should put little silver ASUS logo on little black part on front... when you look card from side.
You see 20TH Anniversay only on front side metal silver logo ASUS. But customers could do that if they like.

Now I'm little sorry somehow because I didn't prepare earlier, I didn't know that ASUS will launch so fast cards..
Maybe I would upgrade GPU instead Rampage 5 Extreme...For 5-10 years when different cards show up, smaller with HBM will be fantastic to remember how cards look before many years, and special because it's 20th Anniversary of ASUS that should stay in shelf as unique models.

You bought GTX980Ti Matrix GOLD! 😄
CONGRATS. My favorite graphic card at the moment on market.
I like more even than TITAN X because card is unique and anyway 6GB is enough for now.
Later when Pascal second generation show up with GP100 premium chip we could think about more video memory.
Card look fantastic. For me is ASIC not so important if card work nice, but looks like you get jack pot with more than 80% ASIC.
I never had card with more than 75% ASIC. But even 60% ASIC is not problem if card work on fabric speed highly overclocked and with little more space just to stay stable long time after many drivers changes. Because later NVIDIA improve performance with drivers more and more.
I think only that Noctua spoil little look of that card...
She will look much better with some AIO system and you will have clear view on card backplate and size of that monster.

No doubt ASUS binned these chips for Matrix Gold special and separate than other cards.
Because of that they didn't launch immediately cards.
Only 10% of all GM200 chips could work on that fabric speed.
They are probably and better quality than most chips in TITAN X.
They even beat Zotac GTX980Ti AMP Extreme 1250MHz base.

How much you paid GM200 Matrix Gold?
Show to people on other forum they will like to see high ASIC and nice card.

Sorry for late response .... i was in vacation for a few weeks.
The Noctua i have now replaced a Corsair H110 because the system is very quiet and i could hear the small rattle of the pump wich annoyed me and for 2-3 degrees more on CPU temps i repalced it with the Noctua.
The price was close to 950 euros.
Do you know if removing the sticker from the screw voids warranty?
After a month of use it seems the highest temp rise with 3-4 degrees ...when i bought it i saw max temp of 73 degrees after a few hours of BF4 at 3440x1440...now i can see it reaches 76 degrees,
I think the thermal paste that came with needs replacement.
