ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU Mini: Small Size, Full Power

While Nvidia’s GTX 670 tries to buck the trend with a small 6.75″ (~17cm) PCB, it’s always fitted with a far larger cooler. ASUS has instead matched the cooler to its 17cm PCB length, which is ideal for the smallest gaming builds. Here’s a first look at ASUS’ new GTX 670 DirectCU Mini.

Nice work, Asus! I think we will be seeing a trend toward very powerful and small formfactor pc rigs. Actually, my next rig will be small form factor rig. Right now I am running a behemoth size rig and would love to have something I can plop on my desk and still run 2-D Surround.

See now if ASUS made ROG mATX or mITX boards for AMD, this would definitely be a great purchase, but, they won't, so it won't be 😛

I'm still hoping for a mITX ROG board 😄

Do not dispair. There is a good alternative (chassis) soon to be launched.

This is definitely something I will consider for my itx build....last year went from atx tower to a tj08-e/matx, now this year im planning on itx, just deciding on whether to wait for haswell or put my 2700k in a current itx. I wouldnt mind seeing other cards come out in this trend too.

Guess I can soon build gaming rig half smaller case than I have already... Currently using Lian Li PC-Q08.

Can we soon also expect Z77 ITX board with 5-6 onboard sata connectors? 😮
