Hi all,
I've been consistently getting a 12VHPWR warning from GPU Tweak III every time my computer wakes up from sleep. The warning says that one or more pins are drawing 0A or over 9A, triggering the alert from the Power Detector+ feature.
This only happens after the system wakes up — not during gaming, benchmarks, or any kind of heavy load. Everything else seems to be working fine, and performance is completely normal.
I've already:
Double-checked the 12VHPWR cable — it's firmly and fully inserted.
Verified that the GPU is properly seated in the PCIe slot.
I'm using a high-quality PSU with a native 12VHPWR cable (not using any adapter).
I'm wondering:
Is this a known issue with GPU Tweak III or the Power Detector+ feature?
Could this be a false positive triggered by low-power states during sleep/wake transitions?
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Any insight or advice would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

This issue is not directly related to vBIOS. The behaviour has been replicated by RD and will be resolved in a future update.

Yes I believe this keeps happening to me as well. All my pins are always green, have mostly an even load on them (like 2 are .02 amps off) everything has been just fine until recently... but when the screen goes blank, or watching YouTube, I have noticed to be getting this more often. I'm doing a new build for my gpu, so I went ahead and unplugged it for now, nothing seemed burned on the astral side...
Edit: unplugged psu earlier as well, no cables or pins seem to be out of place so I'm not sure what's happening. I'm not liking the milage this is putting on gpu however.

Thanks for replying!
Just to clarify — in my case, I only get the alert right after the PC wakes up from sleep. It never happens during gaming, benchmarks, or even regular idle use.
From what you described, it sounds like you're seeing it even while watching YouTube or when the screen goes blank, which might be a bit different from mine. Still, it's interesting that we're both seeing similar behavior from Power Detector+ — maybe it's just overly sensitive in certain power states.
Let me know if your new build changes anything!

Yup! This is a hard issue since it's new and only a small amount of these are around. Mine again I have never seen while gaming, or benchmarks and I've had my card for about 3ish weeks now id say.
I actually noticed this happening the other night when I was messing around with aura sync. When the screen goes blank/times out id still consider that a sleep mode which is why I chimed in. I just never noticed it until recently cause I don't use my 2nd monitor a whole lot. After a week/2 of having the gpu and keeping an eye out on the 12vhpwr cable on gpu tweak I decided to not worry since I hadn't gotten any warnings until now.

If yours is happening at idle then it could still be due to an imbalance. Inspect the amperage monitoring via HWiNFO.
Sunday
I'm not seeing this behaviour. This message generally appears when the conditions are met: the amperage exceeding 9.2A on one pin, or no amperage is detected.

the warning I’m seeing isn’t from HWiNFO, and my readings there are also perfectly normal (like yours).
The alert is actually coming from ASUS GPU Tweak III, specifically its Power Detector+ feature. It pops up only after waking the system from sleep, and says one or more pins are drawing 0A or >9.2A, even though the actual values in HWiNFO look fine.
So it seems like it might be a false trigger during the wake-up transition, rather than a real current issue.
Let me know if you've heard of that happening — I’m wondering if it’s a bug in GPU Tweak III or just overly sensitive logic during power state changes.
Monday
I've not seen this behaviour while waking up from S3, either. I've never once seen this error message, so it's not something that's impacting everyone.
HWiNFO is there by example to show third-party statistics not exceeding or falling under amperage limits.
Monday
as the other user states I'm only seeing this in gpu tweak. I don't use hwinfo, but I think im going to start using it to see exactly what's happening and try to get some idea

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like a similar situation to mine.
I’m curious, if the PC is manually put to sleep and then woken up, does the 12VHPWR warning still show up in your case? That’s when it consistently appears for me.
