ASTRAL RTX 5090 BLACK SCREENS AND CRASHING

Can you guys please give me a piece of an advice? I have the Astral and starting from a week ago I get black screens in desktop or in games and pc restarts by itself. I tried all the drivers with ddu and clean install, even restore a backup image for my windows which I fresh installed a month ago and I get the same scenario. Today when I was on Youtube I got the black screen and the windows was running in the background, I was hearing the sounds and I shut it down pc with my keyboard. After I restart it , the gpu had an exclamation mark in device manager with the message in the picture attached. Since a week ago everything was working perfectly and when I got the first black screen the fans of the gpu started with full speed and pc stopped responding so I guess that was the moment when something happened to my gpu. The windows doesn t have any issues I put the image when everything was working well, everything was 100% stable. Should I send it to warranty?WhatsApp Image 2025-05-02 at 16.44.26.jpegWhatsApp Image 2025-05-02 at 16.44.34.jpeg

@alexmanda80  First of all, Don't worry too much. Nvidia is suffering from an unacceptable sequence of extremely buggy drivers.

I recommend trying version 572.83 or older.

about fans in full speed - I had the same problem:
https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/nvidia-graphics-cards/asus-rog-astral-5090-issue-receiving-0w-starting...

it's a "circuit breaker" to protect the vga.

This problem occurs when the board has a power supply failure OR when a buggy driver loses contact with the board.

Initially I would recommend you to change the power cable - for another reliable cable - or make sure that the installed card is correctly connected to the PCI slot (as it is VERY heavy - it will tilt - and this can generate bad contact on PCI slot)

In my case, as I reported in the post - the problem was solved by removing the VGA holder.

This holder was on top of the fan at the base of the pc case, and as the fan vibrated, the holder vibrated - and "hit" the astral - This vibration - minimal - was enough for the astral to have poor contact when oscillating.

However, as the new Nvidia drivers are very buggy - it is very likely that the problem is associated with it.

So, the best thing to do is to downgrade to a more secure driver version (the current one that is bugged is 576.28)

the previous one, 576.02, also has problems

572.83 is ok for me

So, if the problem persists - check the cables - replace them - and even remove the card from the PCI slot and install it again to ensure that everything is "fitted" correctly.

good luck!

Thanks for your tips,  the problem was solved after replacing the PSU with another one. The problem was either cable or PSU or both. Anyway the issue is completely gone after a week.
