Since the Matrix 800W BIOS was released on November 19st, the black Astral has become the slowest 5090, as Asus has decided to prevent the BIOS from being flashed. For enthusiasts who enjoy benchmarking and overclocking, this is a blow to the heart! The Astral community feels betrayed by the same Asus they've always given so much money to! It's inconceivable that instead of protecting and supporting their customers, they're thinking of neutering and limiting them. For those who run benchmarks, 1-2% makes all the difference in the world, all the fun; starting at a disadvantage takes all the fun out of it!
The frustrating thing is that the Matrix 800W BIOS can be flashed on all 5090s except the Astral Black, Astral LC, and Tuf. It can even be loaded on the Astral White! Seeing the 5090 AIB being able to be fleshed out and perform better than the Astral is a sacrilege!
Please, Asus, make the Matrix 800W BIOS compatible with the black Astrals as well, or release an Astral BIOS update that offers the same performance per clock.
