Astral 5090 OC tips and tricks.

VoodooGTS
Level 9

Anyone got any good reads or tips and tricks with the Astral 5090?

Not sure if it's worth the trouble...

I was able to OC the card with  Asus GPU Tweak3, +200 on GPU clock and +1000 on memory clock and it runs great in different benchmarks in 3dmark.  It never got pass 65 degrees.  Feels like this card can do more, just never attempted.

I do however which I believe is coil whine when the gpu is at 100%.  I get a high pitch whine noise.

Just curious what other 5090 users are pushing.

Thanks.

Hi @VoodooGTS  (cool name BTW)

Some coilwhine in moderation is expected on a GPU that pulls 600W.

Most of the time, you will be power-limited. Rather than bouncing off said power limit for the sake of 1-6% uplift, shaving 120W for the same or sometimes more performance at stock seems to be the way to go.

Here's a modded result in Steel Nomad. Nearing on 400W more power doesn't get you much uplift.

Been doing +300 / +3000 and it is completely stable with full load only at around 65 degrees (air cooled version Astral 5090, fan set to auto in GPU Tweak III, not even touching the voltage curve) while gaming, even in the most GPU intensive games like Wukong and MH Wilds.  We didn't buy this card to save energy brother.

Nice.  I'll bump it up to see what's gains i can pull.  Did a few 3dmark stress test and temps never passed 66 degrees.

Check actual performance with 3000 offset as there is a degree of error correction.
