Hello.
I just upgrade from a 4070 to a 5070 TI in my computer, but the computer starts and enters windows, but the graphics card is detected as a standard graphics card.
I try to install the drivers, but it says that no compatible device is found.
I used the power splitter and also with a direct cable from my PSU, and both have the same result. (no red led on)
Informations about my setup:
MB: Asus Z690 Plus Gaming Wifi D4 (Bios 4101)
GPU: Asus Prime RTX 5070 TI
PSU: Asus ROG 850W
CPU: Intel i5-13600kf
OS: Windows 11
Any clues on why this happens?
Thanks.

Try installing the latest driver 576.52. This should resolve the black screen issue.
Unfortunately, many users have problems with black screens on the Blackwell series.
Install the driver "custom" and disconnect the PC from the internet beforehand so that Windows Update doesn't interfere.
Additionally, in the Nvidia setup, check the "New Installation" box under "custom" and let it run.
Once it's finished, you can reconnect the PC to the internet and search for "nvlddmkm.sys" under C: (where your Windows is located).
This file should only exist once on the Windows drive.

Are all drivers for the chipset, etc., up to date?
Which Nvidia driver did you try to install?
The 5070 Ti is only recognized with version 572.74 or newer.
Is the GPU properly inserted into the PCIe slot?
The "Default graphics card" option indicates that no suitable driver is installed, or Windows couldn't download one via Windows Update.
That's why the Nvidia driver installation seems to be failing.
You can, however, unpack the downloaded Nvidia driver with WinRAR and then manually update/install the driver via Device Manager and the "Default graphics card" properties by navigating to the folder containing the unpacked Nvidia driver.
After that works, it will be recognized as a 5070 Ti, and you can launch the Nvidia driver again directly from the downloaded package (as you normally would) and then go to "Custom" and click "Reinstall."
Then it should run.
Are there any unknown devices in Device Manager?

Thanks for the quick feedback.
I'm trying to install the lastest, 573.24.
I also try'd your sugestion, unpacked the installer and forced the instalation of a "NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada Generation", try'd to install the nvidia package and had the same error.
Already reseated the GPU with no sucess.
In the Device Manager i don't have any unknown devices.

Well, update.
Upgraded the MB to the latest bios, 4301, and now i was able to install the drivers from nvidia (the ones downloaded from Asus site).
How ever, the installation crashes while installing (crashes = black screen), need to do a hard reboot to have image again, but the driver is correct now: "RTX 5070 TI..."

Well, finally an update.
For now it's all working.
Steps i did: Upgraded the BIOS, had to reboot in safe mode to remote the older drivers and installed the drivers that you recommended (the latest available in the nvidia website).
Now it's time to see if the upgrade (and trouble) was worth it!!! 🙂
Thanks for the help!
