5090 ASTRAL flashing red light

AZUUUS

I am using the corsair HX1200i ATX 3.1 power supply, I have also tried using my older HX1200 power supply that I have stored and it does the same thing. I am using the corsair 12VHPWR that came with the power supply, I also purchased 3 different replacements that I used and all the same problem unfortunately. Something I think that is weird that you should note is, whenever I reseat the card whether it’s reseating it into the motherboard or reseating the cable into the GPU, the problem stops on my first boot up. Normally when I finish using my PC, I turn off the PSU from the switch in the back and then turn it back on when I am about to use it, now when I do that the issue comes back but if I don’t switch off the PSU and just restart normally the problem stays away. GPU tweak shows everything is fine and balanced until I restart my power supply. Quite a weird issue. I’ve also used a cable clamp multimeter to measure the amps coming from the cable when the flashing red light happens and noticed it didn’t match what GPU tweak said and the pins were actually perfectly balanced. I am also 100% positive the cable is fully seated into the GPU. Is my GPU’s power detector plus messed up? is it a software issue? Sometimes it works completely fine other times it’s messed up and that’s without me even moving the cable. Not sure if I should exchange/RMA the card or maybe there’s a fix i don’t know about.

Hi @AZUUUS

Firstly, you need a current clamp metre for this. A MM isn't the best or even the right tool for the job

I haven't seen any active examples of inaccurate per-pin monitoring on the Astral, so I'd still assume there is still an imbalance across the pins.

What PSU?

I just went back and checked and it is a clamp meter actually, I have just been calling it a multi meter this whole time and my PSU is the corsair HX1200i the ATX3.1 one. @Silent_Scone

I'm still assuming a power imbalance currently. Are you able to record the system running furmark? Show the Power Detector + status and pin monitoring and inspect the cable using the dc clamp

how do I send you a video?

Best to use something like https://streamable.com/ or a YT account

the cable is snug and all the way in. This is the corsair cable that came with my just about brand new power supply, also tried multiple other cables to double check. It would work for a few power cycles and then go back to flashing. I have asus support involved and they got their asus global team involved but i’m still waiting on a reply

Thanks for the video - is that taken whilst the system is running Furmark?
