I've got 2 ARGB fans connected to my 5090 Astral's external fan headers. GPU Tweak sees them and they work just fine, but changing the colors on the Astral with Armoury Crate/Aura Sync doesn't seem to change the external fan colors at all.
Am I missing something obvious or should I just connect the fans back to my motherboard? I like Aura Sync's effects better than my Gigabyte motherboard software's effects and would prefere to use the 5090 fan headers if possible...

Well i feel dumb. It had been a while since I'd messed with argb fans and I forgot that the pwm and argb connectors are separate.
The Astral 5090 doesn't even have any argb headers, it just has pwm headers. The only place that mentions the astral having argb headers is the techpowerup review which must be incorrect and added to my confusion. This would explain why I can't get argb out of the 5090 fan headers; it's because there are only 2 pwm connectors and no argb connectors. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi @mojuice
Are the fan RGB headers connected to the motherboard?

No, the fans are directly connected to the 2 external fan headers on the 5090 card. The fans work great with gpu tweak. Normally I'd expect the fans connected to the 5090's argb headers to just adopt the same argb settings applied to the 5090, but in my case they just stay the default white.

If the RGB header is also connected to the Astral, then yes, it should sync. I have one coming next week, I'll let you know if I'm able to replicate anything.

OK, I do now see that the 5090 Astral's fan headers act as "pass-thru" fan headers for the motherboard and do not provide color via Asus Sync, but instead through my motherboards' Gigabyte RGB Fusion software. I can see and control the connected-to-card fans as external fans in GPU Tweak, but the fans use my motherboard RGB color settings instead of the 5090's RGB color settings. Not sure if this is normal or not? I can't really find any official documentation that specifically covers the card's fan headers.
I'm going to double check my wires tonight to make double sure I don't have one of the fans plugged into my motherboard.
