1080 ti and i5 processors

Hi, i been reading this stuff in some forums that an i5 processor would bottleneck 1080ti. Meaning the gpu would not perform at it's maximum level if you use it with i5. Do you think this might be the case or just false info? I have i56600k@4.5ghz myself and i have been thinking about getting 1080ti, but when i read these comments i don't know. They saying i7 would be ideal.

So does anyone here think i56600k would bottleneck 1080ti?

Edit: using Asus rog 279q monitor, 1440p 144hz.

That depends if you want higher frames per second.

You should notice a nice performance increase, the 980 Ti is pretty much equal to a 1070, the 1080 is faster than the 1070 and the 1080 Ti is roughly 35% faster than the 1080.

With your monitor it would be a worth while upgrade.
