It won't VROC, but it should allow the board to read m.2 drives. (I think, would be worth a try, I ordered one of these addin cards from B&H photo today)
Another member already tried it. Runs at X4 and only one drive detected so a Hyper mini for one M2 would be just as good and cost a lot less on the X99
