Hello, In my new build (z890 HERO + Intel Ultra 9 285K) my GPU (RTX 4090) wont run at x16 I've tried moving the SSDs (T700 Gen5) i have installed around but no joy... on my old system (z790 hero + 14900ks) always worked at x16 no issues.
Any suggest about this problem?

Hello mattehardware92
The tech specs say if you have an ssd installed in the M.2_3 or M.2_4 slots, the first pcie x16 slot will run at x8.
Also, if you have your T700 set to Gen 5, this may cut the first pcie slot to X8. Try setting your T700 to Gen 4 in the bios.

how can i set to gen4? impossible to find this setting... at moment it is installed in M2_1 (and stay x4 and gpu x8)

I don't have a GTX 4090, so I can't say it is not involved.
The M2.1 slot is in a strange position, and I originally did not even notice where it was.
There is an additional 8 pin power connector next to the ATX power connector.
I may have missed it, but what model drive are you using?
I really can't think of anything else that might be involved.

Even if you set M.2_3 or M.2_4 to Gen4, PCIEX16(G5) will still run at x8. That's what the product specifications state. As soon as you use either M.2_3 or M.2_4, PCIEX16(G5) will run at only x8.

MY T700 is installed in M2_1 SLOT and run at x4 and gpu run at x8.
M2_1 not afflict the speed of GPU. but in my case run at x8 and i dont know why. maybe gen5 ssd cut the line for gpu?

M.2_1 doesn't share any lanes with PCIEX16(G5). It shouldn't matter whether M.2_1 is a PCIe 5.0 device or not. If M.2_3 and M.2_4 are empty, PCIEX16(G5) should run at x16.

Nothing... GPU always at x8 and SSD x4... move to all slot... same... i think it is bios problem.

I just got my system running, and the Bios shows x16 for the only M.2 drive I have in the M.2_1 slot. My drive is a PCIe 5 version.
It seemed to work with the original bios firmware and with the new one,1002.
I had all the drivers installed, but now the Device Manager shows an Unknown Device and PCI Data Aquisition and Signal Processing controller and being not working.

In which slot?
