Hello ASUS Team,
I recently assembled a system with the ProArt Z890 motherboard a month back and installed the USB Wattage Watcher utility from the ASUS DriverHub. However, the application does not function at all:
When I manually run the process, nothing happens — no UI, no tray icon, no readings.
No notifications or wattage info appear when connecting devices to Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, or the front panel USB-C port.
I reinstalled the utility multiple times and confirmed my system is on the latest BIOS, Intel chipset, ME firmware, and Thunderbolt drivers. The issue still persists.
Since this board supports USB Wattage Watcher, it looks like the current version is not starting or initializing properly. Could you please investigate and provide a fix/update?

Hello lordkrishna
1) Check Bios Settings - Ensure the USB Type-C Power mode is set to Auto and the S5 sleep state is enabled.
2) Power Delivery Firmware Update - Install the latest PD Firmware Update, version 1.29 - ProArt Z890-CREATOR WIFI|Motherboards|ASUS Global
3) Device Compatibility - Verify the device being charged is compatible with USB Wattage Watcher.
4) Windows Settings - Check Windows settings to ensure there are no power management restrictions affecting USB charging.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve already checked and can confirm the following:
1) BIOS Settings – USB Type-C Power Mode is set to Auto and S5 sleep state is enabled.
2) Power Delivery Firmware – I am already on the latest PD Firmware Update, v1.29. I also tried reinstalling it, but the issue persists.
3) Device Compatibility – Tested with multiple devices that support USB PD charging (on Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, and front USB-C), still no wattage information or notification.
4) Windows Settings – Verified there are no USB/power management restrictions affecting charging.
🔴 Important: The main issue is that USB Wattage Watcher does not even start when launched manually. There is no UI, no tray icon, and the process does not appear in Task Manager at all. It looks like the program itself is failing to initialize on the ProArt Z890.
Could you please escalate this to the software team to confirm if the current release of USB Wattage Watcher has a compatibility issue with the ProArt Z890?
