Hey,
got a new System and everything [except of deactivating the iGPU cause of issues with Win11 24H2] worked fine.
SystemSpecs:
Rog Strix Z890-F Gaming WIFI
Intel Core Ultra 9 285k
Corsair, DIMM 96 GB DDR5-5600 (4x 24 GB) Quad-Kit - CMH96GX5M4B5600C40
RTX 3080FE
Tried the new BIOS Updates [0806 and 0902] and after these updates my RAM stops working, get a black screen after boot and the orange QLED lighting. Only way to get it back to work is to flash the BIOS back to the first release version [0503]
A full PAssMark MemTest, with alls RAM Sticks inserted on BIOS version 0503 returns no error also the XMP Profile works fine.
I tried several things, its possible to boot with the new BIOS versions [0806 and 0902] with only 2 RAM Sticks inserted instead of 4, but thats no solution, need every MB of RAM in my workstation.
Changlog for BIOS Version 0806 included this statement:
4.Fixed compatibility issue with high-capacity DIMMs
For me it seems to do the opposite 😕
Please help,
Kind regards
Chris

Hi Knusper
There is a new beta bios 1101 available found here https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/intel-800-series/arrowlake-resources/m-p/1058382/highlight/true#M191
It might make the ram you have be able to run with XMP-profile on your computer.
!Remember! You install this bios on your computer at your own risk!.
I've been running my computer with this bios for two days, no problems when it comes to gaming (STALKER: Heart Of Chernobyl), productivity and normal day use. I enable Asus Advanced OC Profile and XMP I Profile in bios.
Good luck

Unfortunately it doesn't work either. Thanks anyway!

@Knusper wrote:Yes, 4 RAM sticks work again for me with version 1002. But unfortunately I still can't activate XMP. The system always gets stuck with code 62. Without XMP - everything is fine.
Intel Core Ultra 9 285k
G.Skill DDR5-6400 (4x32GB) F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RK
Asus ROG Strix Z890 E-Gaming
Maybe 6400MT/s is just too fast for 4 slots?

Hi. Looking at the specs your RAM CMH96GX5M4B5600C40, it seems your using the wrong type of RAM which is most likely why your having so many issues. The Z890 Extreme is a Dual Channel board which is only compatible with Dual Channel RAM. Your are using Quad Channel RAM. I would swap your RAM to Dual Channel RAM. Hope this helps.

Correction: your board is a Rog Strix Z890-F Gaming WIFI not extreme but I did pull the spec sheet for your board and it does state that your DIMM slots are dual channel.

Hi Tbritton:
Thank you for your concern ^_^
This model of Micron memory is indeed not in the compatibility list of Z890-F with four inserted. I checked this when I purchased it, and I was very worried at that time.
Fortunately, among the BIOS versions that have been plugged in from the beginning to the present, only the version that ASUS has withdrawn has problems and cannot boot and work normally. The other versions are all fine. Currently I am using the latest version of 1101 and it is running very stable. ^_^
For me, large capacity and stability are more important than overclocking, so I ran the 5600 with the built-in XMP setting of 1.1V.

Glad it's working. That version they pulled caused a lot of issues for many users.

Of course the board is dual-channel; no need to check the specific board. All Z890 boards are dual-channel. The board doesn't care if you pull two sticks out of a quad-channel kit or use all four sticks in dual-channel mode. A quad-channel RAM kit is simply a kit with four matched RAM DIMMs. The sticks have no awareness of that. You can also use four sticks from a dodeca-channel RAM kit without issues in a dual-channel board. The information about the incompability is wrong.
