ROG Maximus Extreme Z890 Pcie 5.0 not working

No matter what I try my Asus Astral 5090 will only run in pcie x16 4.0 and not x16 5.0... I have cleared cmos, loaded optimized defaults, removed all over clock etc... Nothing I do will allow it to enter 5.0, I even went into BIOS and set it to 5.0 manually but still only does 4.0  I have a Gen5 m.2 ssd in the vapor chamber and thats all so the card still shows 16 lanes.  I have even tried a second card and it still refuses to go into 5.0

Any ideas or should I set up a RMA?

Hi! What utility are you using,  maybe it gives incorrect information?

GPUZ and GPUZ on the ROG app, both report x16_4.0

Is the version the most recent GPU-Z 2.68.0 ?

Are you using a riser cable for your graphics card?

If so, the problem is that the riser cable only supports PCIe 4.0.

Plugged directly into the MOBO

Please check the PCIe settings using HwInfo.

And please post screenshots of GPU-Z and HwInfo showing this incorrect connection.

you can publish screenshots from the GPU-Z program
