ROG Hero Z890 & 265k issues 1302

Ok im getting quite frustrated with the issues with this system since launch.

Here is my hardware

Core Ultra 265k
ASUS ROG HERO Z890 1302 bios
32GB Corsair DDR5 - CMH32GX5M2B7000C40
MSI RTX 4070 Super
Corsair RM850i PSU
Corsair Link H170i

So my issues are the following.

GPU sticks at x8 I have 3 NVME drives installed in M.2_1, M.2_5, & M.2_6.  Also 3 SATA drives connected 2 HDD 1 SSD.

I have tried reseating the GPU a number of times no luck. I have yet to try to resat the CPU.

Since the latest BIOS 1302 the IGPU keeps getting enabled and it seem like the bios is not storing setting properly. I have tried to reflash the bios not seen any change.

ASUS Driver HUB keeps trying to reinstall or just don't work. - This has just started to happen since the latest bios.

System stability seems not the worse but could be better i think ive had to do at last 3 clean installs since launch of Arrow Lake. At this point im having regrets sticking with Intel over AMD.

Have resat my CPU also removed ram cleared CMOS issues still the same.

Starting to think this is related to the 1302 bios.

I have removed all NVME and SATA drives booted with just the GPU and still locked at x8 also have changed the CMOS battery and same issue with the iGPU being enabled again.

Currently in M.2_1 is have the Samsung 980 1TB M.2_6 is the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB

I have also rolled back to bios to 1203

About to upgrade to this bios, where did you see the GPU getting stuck at x8?

GPU Z has been an issue since launch have tested it with no NVME drives still runs as x8

So I just updated mine, and I'm at x16. Had some other XMP issues with previous BIOS v.1203, but those are resolved now as well.

1. Stupid question, but are you plugging your GPU into the very top slot? Cause that's the only one that runs at x16.

2. Another stupid solution, but try making sure your PCI-E setting is set to x16 in the BIOS. We can try to force it to run at that speed.

3. Maybe try a spare GPU, if possible, to isolate any GPU specific issues. I'm running a Z890-a Strix board and I have no issues with my 4080 Super.

Let me know how everything turns out!

So far.

GPU is running in the top PCIE slot, was getting to the point to try the bottom one.

Have tried setting it to x16.

I still have my old z270 Mobo and CPU which it ran at x16 on worse case ill have to try build a test bench from my old PC parts.

My only other thought it could be issue with the GOP in the bios or compatibility issue with the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12G GAMING X SLIM and the ASUS Hero z890. If that's the case it may need a vbios update but there dont seem to be any available.

I manually updated the ME and reflashed with the current beta bios 1302. Which caused most the issues for me seems ok for now more stable but AIDA64 i gained 10ns which isn't good. Still stuck with the iGPU enabled I do think this could be some sort of regression of the iGPU bug at launch.

Some reason im not about to download the final BIOS v1302 as its still showing V1203 on the hero page on the global site and UK site.

I had that weird issue with the 1302 bios not appearing, but it did on my mobile device and when I opened an incognito window on my PC browser. Try that to get the latest version, I'm not using the beta bios, I flashed the release version of 1302 from 12/31/24.

Ive just tried that it looks like could be geolocked atm as ive tried to access it off my mobile phone off wifi on mobile data shows the old version looks like might have to be a case of waiting at this point.

Hello, my system is as follows; Asus rog strix z890-e gaming wifi, 285k, corsair ddr5 8000 Dominator memory running 8400 with dimm fit stable. Bios 1203. Everything seems to be running smoothly for now. I saw you updated to bios 1302. Since my system is stable, I am wondering if I should risk the update. If I update will it keep my dimm fit settings?
