Intel AI Boost Error

I have a Rog Maximus z890 Hero and a Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.  When I have XMP enabled in the bios, I get a error in Intel AI Boost in the windows device manager.  It say's that it's not working and gives me error 43.  When I turn off XMP in the bios the error goes away  and it works ok in the device manager.  Why does it only give this error with XMP enabled?  Is there any more software that has to be installed besides the Intel AI boost driver?  I did a clean Windows 11 install when I put in the new motherboard.  Any help for this would be very helpfull so I can have XMP enable for my Corsair 7400 ram.

Thanks

I'm facing the same issue. Same CPU, but using a TUF z890 Pro with Corsair Dominator DDR5 6600MHz RAM (2x32GB). When enabling XMP in the BIOS, Device Manager shows the Intel AI Boost as disabled.

However, if I lower my RAM frequency to 6400, from the 6600 applied by XMP, the Intel AI Boost is enabled again. Not ideal though, as I'd like to achieve my advertised RAM speeds without sacrificing the NPU. The QVL for my motherboard lists my RAM as compatible at 6600. I wonder if it's an issue or limitation with the CPU. My drivers and chipset are up to date too.

Same problem here. Just built a new system, Asus Z890 Maximus Extreme, BIOS 1002, Core Ultra 9 285K.

Intel AI Boost in device manager has error 43. Intel NPU driver 32.0.100.3104.

96GB of DDR5 RAM at 6800MHz. Clocking it down doesn't help. I also set AI Overclocker to "Auto" and it clocked the RAM down to 5600MHz and I'm still getting an error. Is my processor defective?

Same problem here, Asus Z890 Maximus Extreme, BIOS 1002, Core Ultra 9 285K.  Intel NPU driver 32.00.100.3104.

No matter what I try, the Intel AI Boost device in Device Manager has a yellow exclamation mark and error 43.

I tried setting AI Overclocking to "Auto" instead of "XMP I" but it did not help.

Is my CPU defective? Or is this a BIOS bug?

I also had the same issue.  For me I was using the Asus Default Profile Setting but when I turned it to Intel Profile and put it to performance the Error 43 went away. I thought it was my CPU or Motherboard as well but that wasn't the issue. I have the Asus Z890 Hero, BIOS 1002, CPU Ultra 7 265K.

I finally got mine working correctly in device manager by using the MEUpdateTool on the Asus motherboard  page for the ROG Maximus z890 Hero.  I used Version 19.0.0.1753V4 and it fixed it for now on my computer, the error went away.  I don't know if it will fix everybody's, but it did mine.  Good Luck!

None of that worked for me. I'm already on the Intel Default Settings and the Performance profile. I even cleared CMOS to be sure. Still getting error 43. ME Firmware has already been updated to latest during the BIOS update. ME drivers, chipset drivers, and all other drivers are updated to latest versions.

This sounds like a BIOS bug or an ME firmware bug.

work for me  uninstall npu driver and install latest npu driver Intel® NPU Driver - Windows* 32.0.100.3104

check this procedure

I did that several times and tried two different driver versions; it didn't help.

This worked for me
