ASUS Z890 Extreme + Intel Ultra 7 265k won't boot at times with 77 or 00 codes

Hi,

Encountering a problem after 2 days of running Z890 + Ultra 7.

For two days it worked fine, then it started showing 00 as Q Code. Did some research, and found that maybe something is not connected properly, I don't see how that could've been since it was working fine for two days - but regardless I disconnected everything and reconnected everything back. Except the CPU, that I left as-is, I didn't reseat.

After reinstalling, it started giving 77 error. 9 out of 10 boots it hangs in 77. When it's hung up either I eventually I can boot up, or I've had success if I clear CMOS. It's obviously not attainable to clear CMOS every single time I want to boo.

I tried updating BIOS to latest, same thing, maybe even in higher occurrence in 0902 than 0806. I even went back to 0806 because occurrence on 0902 is higher

Now I'm stuck what to do. I have some suspicion it has to do with the Corsair M700 PRO SE running at X5. I've now put it at X4 and trying to see if it's getting any better.

But I feel stuck, I don't know if the CPU or Motherboard need to be RMA. Are these known issues that maybe a new BIOS will fix?

77 means vrm initialization failed. Check for bending , shorts or even water leaks.

Just disable your integrated GPU in the bios and see your problems dissappear!
