Hi,
I’ve been facing an issue with Fan Xpert 4 / AI Cooling II on Armoury Crate for the past 3 months since I built my new PC.
System setup:
Motherboard: ProArt Z890
Case: ProArt PA602 Wood Edition
CPU Cooler: ProArt LC 420 AIO
Issue:
AI Cooling II always shows “Fan Curve Max.i 0%”, and there’s no blue AI Cooling II fan curve for any fans connected to the motherboard fan headers.
I’ve already tried:
Resetting AI Cooling II multiple times
Turning AI Cooling II ON and OFF
Waiting for updates over the past 3 months (none have fixed the issue)
Detailed findings:
If all fans follow the default CPU Temp source, no blue AI Cooling II fan curve appears for any fan.
If I change the CPU Fan source from CPU Temp to CPU Package and then perform a reset (while keeping the Case Fans on CPU Temp), the blue AI Cooling II curve appears only for the case fans, but not for the CPU fan.
If I do the opposite — keeping the CPU Fan on CPU Temp and setting the Case Fans to CPU Package — no blue curve is generated for any fan.
Additionally, with a recent Armoury Crate update, I’ve noticed another related issue:
On startup, the GPU Temp toggle sometimes goes missing, and I have to restart the PC to make it appear again.
This has been happening daily — I need to open Armoury Crate once every boot, then restart the PC to get the GPU temperature source to show up again for case fans.
This all suggests there’s a bug in how AI Cooling II detects or applies temperature sources (CPU/GPU sensors) on the ProArt Z890 motherboard.
Please look into this — currently, AI Cooling II cannot generate optimized fan curves for any fans connected to the motherboard, making the feature unusable.

Final update:
I re-plugged all the fans into the motherboard fan headers, and now AI Cooling II is working correctly on all fans — the blue curves show up for both CPU and chassis fans.
Looks like the issue is resolved for me.

Quick update:
After testing again, I’m now seeing that the CPU fan does get the AI Cooling II blue curve, but none of the chassis fans receive an AI Cooling II curve — they still show Fan Curve Max.i 0%.
However, considering that my CPU is cooled by an AIO and most airflow demand comes from GPU heat, this behavior isn’t a big issue for me at the moment. As long as the GPU controls the chassis fans, the system stays cool enough in real use.
Just posting this update for accuracy in case it helps with diagnosing the original issue.
Thanks again!
