Followed lots of posts including ASUS support KB article [Windows 11/10] Troubleshooting - Unable to Enter Sleep or Hibernate Mode - https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1049328
PC refuses to go to sleep on its own.
PC does go to sleep and stays asleep when told to do so manually.
All drivers up to date from ASUS support for board.
No Armory Crate installed (and I will not install it as it tries to install itself even on non-admin accounts on every login).
Driving me nuts, help!?!

achugh, good idea, looks like the following update was installed which seems to have fixed the issue.
2023-11 Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057)
It is possible that the following command fixed it (as I flailed around trying various suggestions), but I think it more likely it was the KB4023057
powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
Possibly the combination of the two...

Hello evergreen97
It should be as easy as setting a time for when you want your pc to go to sleep.
You could test with 1 minute.

repeatedly set/reset this many times, hard drive and display timers set to 1 min, pc standby timer set to 2 mins. Does not go into standby after 2 mins.

Hi @evergreen97 can you please share what version of Windows are you using? Also, what Power Profile in Windows are you using? Next, please also share how this Windows installation is done like did you upgrade Windows 10 to 11, or did you install Windows 11 on a different PC and moved that drive to this PC having issue? Lastly, can you also share if you have ErP ENABLED in BIOS. See https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1042220/

I received a Windows update today and the problem seems to be resolved!
Thank you to the forum posters for your assistance, hopefully others struggling with standby on this (truly troubled) board will find the OS update resolved standby also.

Can you check your Windows Update history and see which update you received and post that information here for others to benefit from it?
You can find this information from the Windows Settings App by going to Windows Update menu and selecting Update History to see what was installed when. On my machine, I received KB5043076 which the Sep 2024 cumulative update for 23H2.

Try running the windows power troubleshooter, maybe it will fix it or tell you what's causing your pc to not go to sleep.
On the taskbar, type in power, then click on "Find and fix problems with your computer's power settings".

Thank you for the idea, the troubleshooter reports "No changes or updates were necessary"
