Hi,

Been using bios version 1801 on my system with 4 sticks of corsair ddr5 vengeance ram running at 5600. Ram is rated for 6000 but refuses to run at that speed because I have all of the memory slots populated. Memory has been stress tested for over 34 hours and confirmed to the stable. I updated to bios 1904, and the pc will blue screen and will not run stable unless the ram is set to auto which defaults to a speed of 4200. I also tried the beat bios 2001, this has the same issues, and an added issues with static on the rear usb ports.

Anyone else have these issues, or solutions? I would prefer to run the latest bios on my system.

Are you using CMO profiles from the previous BIOS?

Yes, I am using cmo to load up my saved settings. Is this a problem? I have used cmo profiles each time I have updated the bios, no issues before today.

Yes, it is better to start a fresh CMO - they are not always cross-compatible depending on what's changed. However, you're also combining memory kits. 

Combining and mixing memory kits isn't supported by memory or motherboard vendors. If you combine memory kits, the overclocked settings in which the kit is validated for XMP/EXPO are no longer valid. Purchase a single kit validated for the density and frequency you are trying to run. This is because memory vendors bin and validate the memory kit in the density in which it is sold. Whether we combine a kit with the same part number, frequency, timings or voltage the advice remains the same.

Never had issues with the memory, and i do run it slightly slower than advertised. Will redo my settings manually and see if things work

Regardless, if combining kits and experiencing memory instability there will be little anyone can do here to help you, as manual tuning is often needed. It's possible the OC was slightly conditional before updating, maybe worse now. Changes to auto rules and newer Intel ME firmware can sometimes break stability.

Installed the beta bios 2001 and manually changed all the settings, it now boots and is stable again with all my settings, and the ram running at 5600. So, the solution was not to use the cmo file.

Great, thanks for updating. Always best to do things this way - especially if there’s new ME firmware  / CPU ucode.

Odd the BIOS after working became unstable, reflashed to 1801. I have a support ticket open with Asus
