Z790-Pro WiFi RVM Temperature swinging from 0-125 Deg C

I've just built a new system using the TUF-Gaming-Z790-Pro-Web motherboard, Intel i9 14900K, Asus, Corsair 850W Power Supply, 64Gb DDR5

I've installed Windows 11 and Drivers updates then Hardware Monitor and I noticed the VRM Temperature swinging from 0 to 125C

This doesn't look right, is it a faulty sensor or something I've missed?

We have different motherboards (and I haven't updated HWInfo in a while) but in my version of HWInfo, that sensor falls under the ASUS EC: ASUS category. If I remember right, there is a warning when starting HWInfo (for the first time only) about including those sensors or not - something about them being potentially unreliable. So I suspect you said yes when that option was offered.

In my HWInfo (v7.4), I said no to that option and that sensor simply has a big red cross next to it (all sensors in that section do). So my feeling is it's nothing to worry about at all, the temperature will not really be fluctuating like that in reality.

You could easily remove the config files (to reset all options) if installed as the portable app or simply uninstall and try installing again. Maybe you can turn that section off in the options anyway, but I'm not inclined to trawl through a lot of menus to find out. Hopefully this information will lead you on the right path... 

By the way, I haven't updated beyond 7.4 because the next HWINfo version introduced a bug with the Corsair ICue software that was interfering with my case RGB lighting and my AIO cooler LCD screen. Actually there is an option in the later versions to fix it, I just haven't gotten around to it. v7.4 does everything I need anyway, so I've just stayed with it.

Thanks, I did check the physical temperature and it certainly wasn't that hot.  I'll check the next version of HWInfo. Thanks again.
