Hi all!
Recently built a new machine with the following:
If I attempt to enable XMP (I or II), I'll get slight instability with games, usually resulting in crashes or BSODs. With no XMP applied, it is smooth sailing.
Curious if it's worth waiting out for newer bios versions that will fix this compatibility issue, or if I should bite the bullet, return my mem kit and get another?

Hi,
4x16 @ 6600MT is going to be very tough on stability. You may wish to try a higher MCVDD than what the board is applying in auto rules [advanced memory settings sub menu] . VCCSA [system agent] can also help but is less sensitive to value changes than 12th gen.
The fact the QVL’s fastest kit in that density is 5600MT is telling enough. May want to lower the frequency and check stability in stress apps such as Karhu RAM Test.
If you are able to return the kit, consider purchasing one validated on the motherboard QVL: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-hero-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/
