I have the following setup:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i9-13900K
Mainboard: Asus Z790 Maximus Hero
Processor fan: Thermaltake TOUGHLIQUID Ultra 420 RGB All-In-One Liquid Cooler 420mm
Graphics card: ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 ROG STRIX GAMING OC
SSD: 2x SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2 TB
Case: Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB TG
Power supply: Corsair RM1200x 1200W
Which memory is best for 128 GB?
Please see the QVL for validated kits, assort by 4x32GB.
When talking about high-density kits above stock operating frequency (i.e overclocking) the margin for what will work without additional tuning diminishes. The QVL exists to ensure users the best possible chance of compatibility. Moreover, what works for one user may not work for the other as CPU silicon variance is far more important with these configurations where signal margins are tighter. Of course, you're welcome to purchase a high-speed high-density kit not present on the QVL and then try to tune the kit accordingly by adjusting frequency, timings and voltages manually.
Hope this helps 🙂
