Hi all, first I'm sory for my english 'm not a native english speaker. So I have read dozens of posts but I haven't found a solution to my problem with my new build. In short: When set XMP (XMP1, XMP2, XMP tweak) profile ram is not stable. Hundreds erros in memtest86 from start. Highest stable setting is 6400. It passes all memory tests. Both mobo and memory are on their QVL list. More detailed examination is below.
My build is:
Memory modules are installed in A2/B2. I tried modify voltage and timings and update bios but without success. In fact, this is beyond my knowledge and I don't know what to do and how to set it up. Then I tried sticks separately with the 7200 speed in slot A2 and then B2 with very strange results.
RAM1 have 49 celsius, RAM have 51 celsius.
Is it possible that mobo or memory are bad and shoud I return it? I thing maybe rams are bed. Otherwise in SPD and up to 6400 with both sticks is all stable. So maybe there is only problem with compatibility and all hardware is ok. What do you think? Tomorow is last day I can return components. So I would need to make sure that the components are ok and I don't have to worry about the problem in the future and that replacing the components won't solve the problem.
If there is not problem with HW, can you please advise how to set volting and timing if it helps? I'm already frustrated with it.
Thanks

Try Tweak Mode 1 & 2 under the DRAM Timing page.
Check the Memory Controller SP Score by running the test located under AI Tweaker menu. Scores of 70 and below can be considered a less-than-average IMC.

Hello,
Can you try:
1) Go to Extreme Tweaker > Advanced Memory Voltages > Memory Controller Voltage and set a value between 1.3 and 1.4v
2) Go to Extreme Tweaker and set CPU System Agent Voltage and set a value between 1.3 and 1.35v
3) Go to Extreme Tweaker and set VDD and VDDQ to 1.43v
Rerun Memtest86+ and see if these values in this region help.

Thank you for reply. I tried your advice and although it seems to me that it is better but it didn't help. It seems that there are not so many errors after a few seconds of running, but still there are a lot of errors. I tried all three tips and their combinations. MCV, SA to manual and set voltage override, VVD + VDDQ.
When I swapped the modules between them the mobo was totally unstable or wouldn't start when only setup XMP profile nothing else. So I reverted back. Which is quite strange.
Can you think of any other tricks?

May be a weak IMC. Shouldn't need more than 1.4v IMC.
Use USB Flashback to roll back to 0904 and see if that helps.

Hi I flashbacked the bios to 0904 but unfortunately it didn't help. Should I return this sticks?

Silent_Scone Thank you very much, you are an incredible god 🙂
Tweak mode 1 didn't help but Tweak mode 2 absolutely solved my problem. All memtest passes without any errors. OS load successfully without errors.
I started MC SP test and my results are:
P-CORE SP: 85
E-CORE SP: 60
MC SP: 47
It looks like MC is very weak.
Now I sometimes have a problem when booting - post stop on qcode b2 (white led) and I have to reset.
Or a9 (green led) with black screen when going to bios. With a9 code when switch the source on the monitor to another source, screen is back. Maybe a bad DP cable.

47 is very weak, yes. Tweak Mode 2 relaxes various subtimings. Glad that helped.

I just put together a couple compute PCs for myself at work.
This is incredibly helpful, thank you!!! I would have given up but Tweak Mode 2 fixed the failed memtest. I get zero errors now. Loosening AIO hold down screws and updating to 1202 bios did not help.
13900KS with bios optimized profile
Z790 Hero
4x 16gb sticks of Corsair ddr5-7200 CL34 using XMP I
MC SP 83
all else bios optimized defaults. No voltage changes needed.

No problem. Nice CPU by the looks of it.
