Hey guys
I've come across a weird and frustrating issue on the motherboard that I've been using for just over six months now.
The wifi option has disappeared from Windows 11's Quick Settings panel (the Bluetooth still works). upon checking the device manager, the intel wi-fi 6e AX211 is tagged with the familiar yellow mark that indicates either a software or a hardware issue.
I've tried everything. removing and installing different versions of the driver. disabling and enabling the adapter while restarting the system. disabling the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices from the Bios. detaching and reattaching the antenna.
some of these measures reactivate the wi-fi module successfully but only briefly. also have fiddled with the device's advanced settings like switching between dual and single band and different standards (a/b/g). these random changes will most of the time revive the adapter and it would successfully connect to the internet but upon the first attempt to send or receive any data the adapter would fail again.
**** The only way I have been able to keep the Wi-Fi adapter working has been by plugging an ethernet cable into the LAN port that is not even connected to anything on the other end. ****
I suspect that this bizarre behavior originates from when I was moving the PC case and accidentally zapped its metal body with static electricity through my fingertip while it was not plugged in (although I had experienced some minor Wi-Fi instability before the incident).
forgive me for the lengthy thread.
any suggestions or solutions are hugely appreciated.🙏
