Z790 Extreme Maximus - BIOS 1402 update broke bluetooth and wifi

I had this same issue on the last BIOS version but I was able to fix it by running the ME Update tool, not sure why that fixed it before but it did. This time after updating my BIOS the issue is back but the ME Update tool says the file does not need updated. Any ideas?

They were enabled but get this, just for fun I disabled them in the bios and booted up. The devices were now totally gone. Then I went back into the bios and re-enabled them and now they are working. I love you! Not sure I would have thought of this without your suggestion. So relieved I was scared to death that I would have to send the board in.

There’s a bios setting under Advanced/Onboard Devices for WiFi and BT. You might check that to make sure it’s enabled.

I used your method on a Z790 Hero which also broke with 1402 and it also worked

Really strange it occurred like that. Glad you got it working. Made me wonder because both of those are part of the same entry in the bios.

Hopper,

did we lose the ability to change the short duration package power limit from 320 down to 290?

Don’t know. Haven’t much experience with that setting. Only used it occasionally. Hope Scone sees this. He will chime in.

Trying to deal with that elusive WHEA 17 error in event viewer.  I turned off the PCIe power management this for now.  kinda surprised by now and many bios updates this wasn't fixed by now.  \The wattage setting thing isn't a really big deal, the temps on my CPU are normal between 35-41C.  But this Whea thing like others has me worried.
