Z790-E + 13700k : Bios Q-Fan Questions

Hey guys,

I need a little bit of help setting up a custom fan curve.

First of all, what exactly is the difference between the Q-Fan Source: CPU and CPU Package? Which one is the best to set it too?

Also, any advice on what to set the RPM and curve points at?

My case is Fractal Design Meshify 2. I'm using 3 X 140 Noctua case fans (2 intake and 1 exhaust) and a NH-D15 for the CPU.

Idle is usually around 36c-40c and gaming 55c-60c.

Hello,

1) CPU Package is best as it takes the average core temperature reported by the internal thermal sensors over a set period.

2) The fan curve needs to be experimented with in order to achieve the best balance of thermals and noise levels. Use Optimise All in order for the BIOS to establish the full operating range of the fans, then adjust the curve accordingly after running your preferred workload or stress test.
