Z790, different bios files released on the same day ?

Was looking if there was a bios update for the ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming Wifi and there are 2 x different bios files that were released on the same day 2 days ago, 0817 and 0904 with the previous most recent being 0812.

0817 apparently improves compatibility and 0904 apparently improves performance.

Can anyone in the know point me in the right direction please ?

0904 was released on 31st March. There is no 0817 BIOS listed. 0816 was released on 24th Feb. Where are you looking?

I'm looking at the actual bios download page for the motherboard, As you can see... 0817.

yup in caanda i seen this as well , i downloaded it ,   bios 904 is trash i cant  do  4400 c16 gear 1  or 4300 c15 gear 1 16gb x 2  ddr4  on bios 904  but bios 704 both pass y cruncher / tm5 / occt  

im tryig this bios out on z790 strix wifi d4 rn

it apeard this am for me  817  and its listed newer then bios 904

I have noticed before that national sites update at different times. There is no doubt that 09xx will be newer then 08xx. Mind you, the way BIOS releases have been going lately, that doesn't necessarily mean it's better!

I've also seen date errors before. I think it was the Bluetooth drivers for Z690 Hero that were listed as newest but were 1 year old (and way out of date) a few months back.
