Z790 APEX ENCORE + M.2 GEN5 SLOT

Solzo
Level 7

I have a Z790 Apex Encore with a 14900K, 4090 and a Crucial T700 PCIe 5 M.2 drive.

4090 is in PCIEX16(G5)_1 slot
T700 is in M.2_1 slot.
No other drives are in the system.

I have enabled bifurcation GPU+M.2 (from auto)
BIOS is updated.

My issue is that the T700 is running at PCIe 4 instead of PCIe 5.

I've already sent an email to Asus support and chatted via chat, but they haven't been able to help me.

Has anyone else had or is having this problem and could help me?

Hi @Solzo ,

Have you consulted Crucial about the behaviour? I had no such issues with the exact same setup.

However, the drive did recently fail so I've had to send it for RMA.
There have been a few teething issues with this particular drive (across multiple vendors).

I just sent them an email, I hope to get back to you soon with a solution.

Unfortunately RMA is not something possible for me, as I live in Brazil so it is unfeasible with all the taxes we have here

I see. Well, that's something you may have to entertain. My T700 failed after 3 or 4 months and I'm currently waiting on the replacement.
