Newegg listing November 2nd and 3rd:

96062

Newegg listing November 4th, today:

Did Newegg sell out their known incoming quantity of boards as Pre-Orders in 48hours? OR did they simply change the purchasing status?

Who knows right?

Did anyone grab a pre-order?

All good thanks. While you are playing with your KS, I will setting up my NAS which arrives later today. In the end I decided to get a commercial one - QNAP 464. The cost of the NAS vs a build was about the same in the end. Ordered 4x4TB HDs, plus 2 x NVME SSDs and a memory upgrade to go with it.

Should be fun, but I need to be careful with security. QNAP and Asustor both suffered from NAS ransomware attacks last year. Security will be 'to the max' lol. I don't even need the storage really as I have ~28TB already in various drives now, but hell, you just can't have enough storage 🙂 and I can learn all about networking.

I'm waiting for the brown UPS truck to ring the bell. lol 13900KS arriving today - super-excited about my very 1st 8core processor.

Have you seen a bios update for your board? I’m reluctant to pursue installation without a bios update. Haven’t seen one for my extreme board.

Have heard 0703 works with the new 13900KS, so all bioses after that should be fine.

I'm using 0809 and hoping for the best. 🙂

Well I just checked the CPU QVL again on my extreme board for the heck of it and look what popped up:

Yep, 13900KS brother, we are good to go, bios 0703 and all bios after that are KS approved! 😛

I'm on Apex 0809, and have a lot of work(fun) ahead of me this weekend, gotta drain the top of the water loop (I use a popcorn bowl lol), install new contact frame and the awesome i9 KS, 2new ZMT tubing runs and the beautiful EKWB 1700 Full Nickel Magnitude water block aesthetically matched to the Z790 Apex board.

Not certain why I waited 10years to get my 1st 8core CPU - this weekend, I'm a very happy ROGer! 🙂

I've been keeping an eye on BIOS releases for the Z690 Hero in 'Raptorlake Resources' thread, but no candidate releases for a while. Have you checked there for your board? Having said that, be careful as some candidate releases don't allow rolling back, or so I have read... I think somebody said that about 2301RC on the 690 Hero. I have a copy of that (haven't tried it myself) but can't remember where I got it from. Still 2204 in the thread I mentioned here.

Yea guys. Checked both the website for my MZ790E and Shamino’s test bios thread but nothing new. Using 0805 currently. I saw someone mentioned a bios 0810 but never found it. Didn’t know 0703 worked with the KS. That’s news to me. Thanks!!
