Newegg listing November 2nd and 3rd:

96062

Newegg listing November 4th, today:

96063

Did Newegg sell out their known incoming quantity of boards as Pre-Orders in 48hours? OR did they simply change the purchasing status?

Who knows right?

Did anyone grab a pre-order?

I ordered the IHS frame today just to be on the safe side 😛

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0B64Y5ZXL?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image
As noticed from 12th, if a new processor is mounted in the socket its IHS will curve anyways, so mounting the frame after won't make most of the times any difference

Apex Z790 will arrive in Germany this Friday but I'm kinda reluctant to order again an Asus product from abroad, due to their "local" warranty policy...
Even if the board is bought online within the so-called Mickey Mouse EU territory when it comes to warranty Asus Germany cannot pick up the board from a different country and the local Asus cannot pick up the board because its S/N is assigned to another country (happened to me with Apex Z590). That was cute, lesson learned =))

Well, if the Apex will be crap again, we'll make sure that lots won't buy this brand again...
Meanwhile 6200 surprisingly working fine on a Hero, 6400 no go, but it's a... Hero though, so no high expectations here... sending regards accordingly to Asus :))

It's funny that we are aiming for a rock solid 6400 stability on Apex, others dream 7000+ =))

Thought about grabbing a CPU contact frame like yours. Gonna wait and see how it goes, the EK Quantum Magnitude CPU block I'm using fits so precisely and accurately it's a brilliant design taking it apart the quality is so extreme wish the cost wasn't so high but I've come to appreciate quality parts after building my own work computers since 2012 and the Maximus V Extreme.

The ROG boards I've owned: M5E M8E R5E10 M10A M13A > M15A

EK sells lots of parts I'd never buy, but the water blocks they make in-house I've had such satisfying experiences.

This component below is EKWB at their very best!

Might pick up this Thermal Grizzly from Titan Rig if needed.

Calling these extremely thin 1.0mm silicon strips "Anti-Vibration Gaskets" - is a stretch of the imagination and a good bit of comedy.

There's not enough quantity of material present to absorb even nominal amounts of rotational noise energy generated from a 140mm 2000rpm fan. They're going to work as well as the Noctua corner pads AND fill-in that 1.0mm gap created by them - and that's the only purpose these "silicon strips" can achieve.

Would not use them alone flush mounted to a radiator ever, yet mounted "on top" of high performance radiator gaskets they should work well to fill in the air-gap created by the Noctua corner pads and aesthetically should look very nice. 🙂

At least Noctua did flatten one side of the silicon strips allowing for a very neat and tidy exit for the PWM and PWR cables - nice attention to detail Noctua. 🙂

told ya...
somehow the brown ones were more... solid let's say, but not so far from the black ones
I think the side "wires" are for esthetics only, not supposed to dampen any vibration or so
basically, I think these "gaskets" are just the regular triangular vibration pads joined together, and pay few times more =))

You are right kvarq, that's all they are - the triangular Noctua corner pads joined together. 🙂

More of an aesthetic improvement than acoustic or increased airflow through the rad. But at least I can remove (8) of my black Noctua corner pads and add these closing up my air-gap, should look nicer than the gaping abyss below. lol

Won't be getting to it today, here working trying to upgrade my Newegg Z790 Apex shipping and waiting to sign for the blank keyboard. 😛

Hey Braegnok, this PCB isn't silver or gray, it's a very bright white! 😛

Depends on how much light you throw on it I guess...

M15A printed on back of the PCB - I love that! 😛
