Newegg listing November 2nd and 3rd:

96062

Newegg listing November 4th, today:

96063

Did Newegg sell out their known incoming quantity of boards as Pre-Orders in 48hours? OR did they simply change the purchasing status?

Who knows right?

Did anyone grab a pre-order?

Thanks John, yeah I gotta hit the sack soon, tomorrow I'm check back in.

One other question, anybody know what that residue/marks are inside my GPU water block? Its new and I'm only running distilled water and xspc ec6 protect biocide.

Here is my CPU idle temps.13900KS Idle non OC .png

Might be manufacturing residue even if water blocks and tubing are new. I soaked my rad for 12hrs in Mayhems Blitz part 1, disassembled the EK CPU block and D5 and pump top and rinsed with distilled, and rinsed inner wall of the tubing runs (not the practice measuring aesthetic runs) only the final runs, they always have a white powdery inner surface, distilled water rinses it off - then assembled my loop.

I'll post those TVB oc  "how to" images in a few minutes. 😄

Tried to edit last post with no success, so anyhoo double post to help a fellow ROGer...

There's so much to say about Thermal Velocity Boost overclocks, this ROG bios functionality is extremely comprehensive - you can even set TVB oc to ENABLE and adjust each Pcores TVB to individual frequencies - so in effect a Per-Core OC for your boost clocks, thank you ROG. 😃

Starting off simple with 2settings capabilities:

1) Add TVB +1 or +2 OC Profile

- in extreme tweaker click Thermal Velocity Boost

- in thermal velocity boost click Overclocking TVB and set either the +1 or +2 profile, save out of bios

My 13900KS results with the +2 setting: (already posted above on this page - sorry about that)

13900ks TVB.jpg

2)  Set Overclocking TVB to Boost Until Target, in the box below set to AUTO

- with this profile the ROG AI uses the values in your Predictions Screen cooling pts and CPU SP values to determine the most stable TVB OC for your CPU and Thermal Solution

My results were the same 6.2Ghz TVB boost for all 13900KS Pcores. My KS is above average yet certainly not the best, some of the extreme SP KS chips will most likely give you 6.3Ghz all Pcore TVB boost with the "boost to target and auto" AI profile. 😄

Thanks ibruceypoo, I'm changing my setup up and taking out my EK LGA1700 CPU waterblock and about to install the EK Delta 2 TEC cooler from EK. I have done some research and it appears the z790 APEX can be used with the cooler without mods, I posted over in Reddit about this https://www.reddit.com/r/EKWB/comments/127wbcb/delta_2_tec_appears_to_work_with_z790_apex/

I dont care about all core or E cores only P core boost to single core apps like FPS games, my rig is just for gaming.

Wish me luck

EK Delta 2 TEC sounds awesome Larry. Let us know your thermal results please! 🙂

I've found my single and slightly threaded office apps actually benefit in responsiveness by keeping 8 of 16 Ecores active. Tried three Ecore scenarios 0active 8active 16active and 8active was the most responsive. If I really wanted to deep dive 6active Ecores might be my best overall for my simple work apps.

The 6.2Ghz TVB boost and 8200MT/s daily is an absolute pleasure to use everyday.

No doubt I will get 8400MT/s stable just need to adjust SAV and MCV a bit and loosen timings (most likely) I don't want to run at 1.6v, not 10hrs a day. Not a bencher, I only look for a nice stable work daily. 😉

Some 8600 stuff tried a while ago....

Nice work kvarq! 😁

You know this stuff better than me. Going for 8400 stable with the new 8000 kit but not even thinking of 8600, yea I could spend lots of time on it getting it stable and maybe I could and maybe not, but already know I cannot use it as a daily - so rather just work on 8200 and 8400 - tweaking those into the best daily possible, not submitting to hwbot, not competing with anyone. lol 😆

The Apex is indeed marvellous. I'd get one if I needed an upgrade. Well guess what, after saying that my fan/RGB issues could not be software/drivers, as a last resort after more changing of motherboard connections and exhausting all permutations, I did a quick Windows install without drivers, just installed iCue. After some more mucking about I got everything working again! Now I'm back on this version of my OS after yet another restore, but I know my hardware is fine. That's a big happy smile. Now all I have to do is do another fresh reinstall of Windows to get to the bottom of my problems. That will take me a good day, , I have a lot of software, but what else would I being doing other than playing with my PC anyway 😆 John is happy again.
