I skipped Alder and I'll skip Arrow, and Go Big on Panther. Really Big! 🤗

Hideous! 😆
Let's try to keep it on topic here, gents. 👍

Wow, no need for that! Don't forget we're in the Intel 700 series subsection. I don't expect to see your lunch and shoes all the time 😂! If you take umbrage with that then I apologise but it makes sense to me, we have a general discussion section, too. 👍
EDIT: Please don't discuss moderation or refrain from posting here [about it], you can PM me if you don't agree. Need to keep the subsections relevant to the topic at hand, it's nothing personal 👍

This important point deserves a repost:
Apex + custom water 👍
Why my loop is CPU only - really wanted the greatest chance at a very high TVB, and I got it - 6.2Ghz 13900KS all 8Pcores as a work daily. 🤗
Thank you Apex!

John sleeping tonight, thinking Apex. 🤣

Perhaps we should move our more 'fun' based chatter to the general discussions thread then. To be fair, it does make sense to do that. I'm busy today with work again, but happy to create one later. What do you think?

Hi John,
Absolutely! This is why we have general discussion. I’ll take my party pooper pants off now!

Hi,
I bought an Apex z790 today, and I have a question on how to install M2 drives (I have 2) not to affect the PCIe x16 line for RTX 4090.
Do I need to use DIMM.2 card, as I see, only 2xNVMe slots are available on MB.
M_1st is CPU and M_2 is Chipset, and M_1 will cut PCIe to x8.
I need to understand if DIMM.2 does the same thing as the M_1 slot, or it is safe to install NVMe and GPU will have PCIex16.

You can use both onboard M.2 slots on Z790 Apex, and not effect the top PCIe x16 lane for your graphics card.
13th Generation Intel Core i9 Processors have 20 PCI Express Lanes, with configurations up to 1x16+4, 2x8+4.
M.2_1 slot is on CPU, supports PCIe 4.0 x4.
M.2_2 slot is on Chipset, supports PCIe 4.0 x4 & SATA.
The DIMM.2 card is also on Chipset, both DIMM.2_1 and DIMM.2_2 support PCIe 4.0 x4.
The Intel Z790 Chipset also has 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes.

Thank you for the info.
Weird that M.2_1 slot is not affecting PCIe1x16 on Apex; as my current Asus Hero, if I install nvme to M.2_1 limits my GPU to x8 only.
