Yes the DDR5 fan mounting bracket included with the Z790 Apex says 40mm 50mm and 60mm.

I measured and believe I can mount a Noctua all-black 80mm fan since the fan mounting holes are 71.5mm x 71.5mm and the Z790 Apex fan bracket slots are 72mm wide. Might be a tight fit, but a rat-tail file will fix all that. lol

Noctua 80mm fan arriving today for the Z790 Apex DDR5, plan on running it off the Aquaero 6LT fan controller at very low rpm, just a nice slow breeze of cold air over the memory modules.

Oh it will fit.
Just not with screws. The spacing is good enough for vhb tape or cable ties only.

The 80mm Noctua has not arrived yet almost 5pm Amazon is late. lol

I think (2) 40mm may look cooler - low profile, than the single 80mm black Noctua arriving today. I'll post pics at OCN when it gets here with mm ruler photo dimensions. :cool:

80mm Noctua fan and Apex Z790 DDR5 fan mount work perfectly together with soft silicon grommets.

Check my pics at OCN. 🙂 Simply make certain you mount the 80mm fan outside the L-bracket, not inside. 🙂
