Newegg listing November 4th, today:

Did Newegg sell out their known incoming quantity of boards as Pre-Orders in 48hours? OR did they simply change the purchasing status?

Who knows right?

Did anyone grab a pre-order?

Ah OK. Well I hope you get it soon. Good luck...

I'm going to follow your experience. I'm kind of tempted myself.

I retired early 6 months ago but then I got chased down to work for someone else. So I accepted that new job part time which was a sensible thing to do financially. Anyway, I keep thinking "well in one sense this is just extra money that I wouldn't have had otherwise, so I deserve a treat" lol.

Posted this in your General Advice thread John:

"Got my 3-step installation gameplan ready to go:

1) MEI drivers latest
2) ME firmware latest
3) Bios Z790 Apex latest"

I mean if you enjoy the hobby, think you would truly enjoy a test bench build. One caveat, need a portable air blower to blow off the superficial dust twice a week, takes 10seconds. Been using open air benches since 2015, so much easier to build into and infinite possibilities, very few space restrictions lol. 😛

I saw that you had updated the other thread lol 🙂

Good suggestion and I have been looking at test benches for a while. Trouble is that we have two large dogs and two parrots and they all make huge amounts of dust. The other issue is one of space realistically. Apart from that I think I would enjoy having the open access. One really great thing about my 7000X case is that the filtration is really good. So once a week I pull off the front glass, clean the plastic grill (which catches 95% of the dust), open the side door and give the inside a light clean with a brush on the vacuum cleaner. I do have two 8cm fans stacked together which blow over the PCH with a metal mesh filter over the front. That catches the other 5% of the dust. Takes about 10 minutes. With that schedule it stays pretty clean. I take it outside once every 3 months and treat it to a decent clean. Honestly though, I love the idea of a test bench, but I really do think we have too much dust for that 😞

This is the rest of the super simple NO RES CPU-only loop.

Anyone want to recreate it, just copy and paste.

D5 out > passthrough > CPU block in > CPU block out > passthrough > 280mm rad in > 280mm rad out > D5 in.

This is what's happening below the motherboard tray:

That's a great solution, very neat. Don't forget to tighten your pump connections after you've filled it with coolant. Otherwise, enjoy the special fountain effect lol
