As the title says - I boot up and my CPU starts off at up to 100°C. It settles down to about 35-40°C after a minute or so.
The red CPU Q-LED light goes off when this boot up situation occurs.
I have adequately pasted the CPU and AIO contact. I have an intel 14700K and a Deepcool LT720 AIO.
I initially tried installing the latest BIOS - Version 1503 Beta Version 2024/08/08, but it wouldn't boot, so I went for the prior one - Version 1402 2024/07/12, and it now boots up; if that has anything to do with it.
I have just installed the latest chipset driver from this motherboard's support page.
Any ideas what's going on?

Since when has it been like this and where is it displayed?
If you actually see 100 degrees in the UEFI or wherever, then there is something wrong with your cooling.
AiO too tight or too loose (don't screw it in with force), AiO pump defective or clogged (can also happen with new devices).
Or it is a reading error if 100 degrees are displayed first, but 35-40 degrees a little later.
Although I suspect that the AiO is defective, that it is working too slowly or starting too late.
Do you use a ContactFrame or the standard Intel mount that is normally installed on the mainboard?
If you install the latest UEFI BIOS update, the PC won't boot? What is the PC doing?
After an update of the UEFI/BIOS, the settings are reset. This means that when the PC restarts, you will be prompted to go to the UEFI/BIOS using F1 in order to make any settings. This is normal behavior.
If you don't want to change anything, then exit the UEFI/BIOS and Windows should start.
If it doesn't, check in the UEFI/BIOS whether the Windows hard drive is also active as a boot medium. It should then be displayed as "WindowsBootManager".
Chipset drivers only have an effect in Windows, not when booting the PC.

Thank you for your reply. I think with the booting up issue it might have just been that the most recent to date BIOS was in beta, because I have had no issues since with the one before.
With the Q-LED red light and the hot temp when booting - I immediately suspected I need to replace my AIO. I saw an upgrade by Deepcool called the Mystique, which apparently has better cooling tech than my current AIO. So I will purchase and fit that soon and report back here after. Btw, my current fan curves seem ok in that cpu fan is at least 20-30% when the cpu is at 0-30ºC (or boot), and the pump fan is literally at 80% from boot.
ps. I also noticed that despite fitting a different motherboard - the Armoury Crate still logs the motherboard model as the old one. So I am in the process of uninstalling AC and re-installing to see if the new board is recognized. This should help with getting the correct updates, etc.
